Re: Ceiling fan not working, but light is OK

Quote possibly it's the start capacitor rather than the motor. They can be replaced fairly easily. ...but I guess you've got to know someone who knows how do that. Any suggestions from your location up to Competa or down to the coast at Torre del Mar? Here is a quick and easy way to test if the cap...

Re: T.I.E

Thanks Gerry. I'll see how you get on first! Do you know what size photo as we have various ones taken for our recent driving licences, although I am smiling in mine so not sure if I can use that. Had a look online and the size requirements etc. seem to be the same for a Spanish passport, driving l...

Re: T.I.E

Province first, selected Malaga in my case.
I see you live in Bilbao which is in Vizcaya (Biscay) province according to Google.
That province doesn't seem to appear in the first drop-down menu.

Re: T.I.E

Sorry, don't know the size of the photo.
We don't have any recent ones.
Going into the new, everything you need for your application, shop opposite the new police station as they will know the size.
I'll ask them if it is the same size as the driving licence ones.

I thought they were At the moment only compulsory inside a building and outside IF you can't maintain the required social distancing. The new proposal is compulsory irrespective of social distancing. Re: Coronavirus

Is it a case of sloppy reporting? Coronavirus has been around for a number of years. It mutates and some forms of the mutation can adversely affect humans. We have had SARS and MERS Coronavirus mutations in this century. The new mutation was identified and named COVID-19. So it is highly probable th...

Re: T.I.E

We don't have the green cards. We have the Green A4 pieces of paper. I understand that the advantage of having a TIE is that it has your name and photo on a credit card size piece of plastic and it can be used for identification as did the card, no way out of date, that i had originally.. EHIC renewal

Noticed that our UK issued EHICs expired in February.
I believe as we live in Spain, both pensioners, and because of Brexit? we now have to apply for our cards here in Spain.
Is this correct?

Re: T.I.E

So, who is going to be first on here to apply for a TIE from the Torre del Mar police station?
Whoever it is, will they do a write up on exactly how to do it and what paperwork etc. is needed?

Re: Diseased grapes?

I've been told that it is very nice. I prune it back in Jan/ Feb. Usually, only the new growth gets pruned. I intend pruning it back a lot more next time. It's getting a bit too big. Couldn't stand far enough back to get the whole vine in the picture. https://i.postimg.cc/fk40zry4/20200703-194005.jp...

Re: Diseased grapes?

Hi Gerry Thanks for the reply. No sign of yellowing or mildew on the leaves. I'll remove the infected bunches. I only have one vine and usually make about 18-24 bottles of red wine from the grapes. This year the grapes are rather small so probably won't be any winemaking this year. I'm going to give...

Diseased grapes?

Some of my grapes have a greenish-yellow coating on them. Rubs off easily.
Is it some form of disease and should I treat it in some way?

Re: Mobile Phone - Data Speed

To try to identify the problem, for a start, I would put each of the SIMs, in turn, into one of the phones and check to see which provider each one connects to and what is the download speed of each one.

Re: Mobile Phone - Data Speed

Do each SIM card connect to the same network provider? Could be the case of two of them connecting to Orange and one of them connecting to Yoigo which might be a lot slower than Orange. How do you test the speed? Always in the same location? Is the slow SIM set to 3G only? I use the Speedcheck app w...

Re: Restoring plastic headlamp covers.

As a quick test, I wiped them over with some WD40 on a piece of cloth. Came up clean surprisingly well for very little effort, time or money. The effect might not last as long as a proper buffing down with cutting compound but if anybody is after a quick fix before an ITV test it seems to work. I wi...
