Re: Payment of outstanding bills

Strange how things work over there and how it seems they can impose fines for late payment of bills which you have not even received..How can any payment be late if you haven't been issued with a bill? It seems to me that people are being fined for their incompetence of not sending out the bill eith...

Re: Easyjet

As Lavanda said it's total confusion with forever changing media headlines..This week the UK is running a 3 tier system, next week who knows!! Flights in and out of Manchester are still operating as are trains and buses...Trains/Buses still operated during the national lockdown although less frequen...

Re: House sale proceeds

When we bought our property the proceeds were paid by bankers draught directly to the seller at the notary with the fees and deductions already having been made....As far as i'm aware the sellers then left Spain and deposited the bankers draught which was made out in Euros in a Uk bank, they phoned ...

Re: First actual problem re:Brexit

That's a complication I did not know about. My OH is full of doom and gloom at the moment and says that if the fiasco in the UK with a second lockdown continues the country will be bankrupt and none of us will be getting any pensions anyway. That's a worry too far. Yes it is a fiasco, many of us ar...

Re: First actual problem re:Brexit

Agree, it is all a mess...more confusion and rules than you can shake a stick at..Brexit is another subject and the oven ready Bojo deal that never was is being over shadowed by the virus.....My concerns are not about being infected with a virus because i can do what i can to try and avoid that but ...

Re: Coronavirus

My daughter told me that while she was in Spain the one thing she noticed was that people don't seem to know the meaning of the word self distancing, she thinks people have a false sense of security because they are wearing a mask and that's probably more reason to think masks are doing no good what...

Re: Olive Press

I don't subscribe to any newspapers but i can see why some people may wish to do so and especially those who are no longer living in the Uk..Due to covid19 news publications are probably jumping on the band wagon to take advantage of the new high number of readers while they can and get them on subs...

Re: Easyjet

Nothing surprises me now in the world of travel, i think for the time being we can expect anything. It is one industry which must be pulling their hair out each and every day and i guess as customers we see it from our own points of view. Nevertheless some are better than others as far as refunds an...

Re: Road Trip

I recall the very first time i went to visit hubby's family many years ago,we travelled by bus from Malaga to Diezma before they put in the motorway up to Granada. It was a long journey back then and the last part from Granada to Diezma travelling the windy roads was stomach churning..Those were the...

Re: Coronavirus

I live in the area served by this hospital and in 14 years I have never met anyone who has been treated there who has described it as "failing". They have all commented favourably on the treatment they have received. The complaints I am seeing from Spanish people on things like local Facebook group...

Re: Ryanair.

Couldn't agree more Wicksey, I've had cancellations with both Jet2 and Easyjet and they both had their trials but Ryanair tops them both by a country mile. After i did the refund submit link i received an email from them about 2 weeks later, it was as if i had not previously applied for the refund b...

Wow! very skilled indeed, what chance does anyone have if they want to get at your belongings it seems that they will... A real pain when it's cards, passport etc on top of the cash being stolen.

Re: What is your new normal?

I have been approached by them on a few occasions in Granada but the very first time was many years ago outside of the Alhambra in the days when very few tourists ventured as far as Granada, it was pay at the door days and queues didn't exist. There were two women both trying to sell me their sprigs...

There will be many who will take great delight in fooling around submitting false reports, i hope that they will have some kind of a system where they can confirm that the caller has actually been tested positive before they start contacting all those picked up by the app and confining them to their...
