Re: Retirement age Spain

Agree apprentiships are a good alternative to uni but even they are not what they were..Most used to be at least 4/5 years to complete, now they are fast tracked and suddenly you are a builder/plumber/hairdresser but with little experience and not enough knowledge...Its no wonder the Uk is filled wi...

Re: EHIC renewal

I think for many people the Ethic has tremendous value and it's only when the realisation of it being possibly lost will many people realise what that means...I do hope that there will be an agreement to retain it. I have used mine once during a hospital visit to A & E. Upon returning to the Uk i re...

Re: Coronavirus

I have no poison for the McCanns at and i'd hate to have had my daughter stolen away from me! The one and only thing i can not understand is how people can feel relaxed about leaving their children alone in a hotel room whether they are asleep or not..The furthest i've been away from my own kids is ...

Re: Coronavirus

I doubt there's a country in the world where the vast majority of people wouldn't take advantage of the chance to have free money so while it lasts they are welcome to it..It may cause problems for the future because the money didn't fall off a tree but for those who may be eligible for any of the m...

Re: Coronavirus

Well i don't know if it's an elderly or mid age thing but i know many people who fit both age groups who have either gone off meat or now eat very little of it, after reading the above post it certainly made me think... A change of subject...what is the situation over in Spain ( andalucia) regarding...

Re: Easyjet

My post was submitted almost 3 months ago when everyone thought there wouldn't be air travel this year.. I am glad that easyjet has survived so far despite the job losses in the air industry world..There is still a long long way to go before any of them will be back to pre Covid19 levels and althoug...

Re: Easyjet

That's quite strange Screagle, they must have changed their policy, when my outbound flight was canceled they refunded me for my inbound flight also. I didn't have to apply for two separate refunds. I thought it was common sense that if you had made a return booking then if they couldn't fly you out...

Re: Easyjet

You can perform a dummy run on your up coming booked flights and get an indication on whether they are likely to be canceled. Ryanair have reduced flights to Malaga from our local airport to twice a week in July and 3 times a week in August, They previously had a timetable to fly every day of the we...

Re: Coronavirus

Does anyone know what the new normal means for driving with passengers? Are there still restrictions relating to passenger numbers or whether they have to be members of the same family or live under the same roof...What about 9 seater van hire? I have looked around the net and can't find anything so...

Re: Easyjet

Jet2 have now admitted they made a mistake. Still to see what they do. Good that you got it sorted out with them quickly.. You could move your dates if that is an option or maybe have a look at when you would like to fly if you still want to and check the price across several several airlines...You...

Re: Coronavirus

Iberia Express have just cancelled my neighbours flight to the UK for the 30th July, 4th August. She spoke to them and they are not happy with UK virus control. Although flights across Europe are being resumed at the beginning of July the UK as destination is not happening until 19th August — and m...

Re: Telephone Filtering before being able to see your doctor

Another permanent change being brought about under the pretext of the Corona virus. Now the Andalucian Health Service have announced that they will be continuing to require patients wanting to see their GP to phone for an appointment (rather than making the appointment online or via the app) and th...

Re: Public Transport under Threat

Yes that's right Elusive, in all honesty it is not in my interests to hire a car just to park it for the duration on the dirt car park on the edge of Nerja then leave for the airport. It will have an effect on tourism that's for sure and either cutting back on services or canceling them altogether is...

Re: Public Transport under Threat

Reducing services or canceling the contract would be a disaster to those people who are reliant on the bus service. It would also be a disaster for tourism, i visit Nerja once every May using the bus service and if the bus timetable is severly reduced or canceled that puts paid to my stay in Nerja...

Re: Painting Railings

We're having terrace wall railings constructed by our local Carpinteria de Metalica, they paint the primer base coat, deliver and fit them, but they don't apply the finished coat. I have seen a metalwork finishes on railings in our local town of Loja which are a kind of matt charcoal colour with a ...

Re: Coronavirus

I suppose we just have to balance what some unidentified doctor in the UK is alleged to have said against the verifiable comments of the Spanish Ministry of Health spokespeople on Spanish national television news. The WHO (or perhaps we should call it the OMS though OMG would be more appropriate) k...
