Re: New Indian Torre del Mar
Farewell, everyone. Some good friends here, but the autocratic way this Forum is now run (What happened, Sid?) is now beyond the pail. If the Forum can't follow its own rules, then there is no future in it for me. You can sleep easy now - one less rational voice to deal with. Please delete all 1356 ...

Re: New Indian Torre del Mar
Bob,
Please look at Forum rule 7.1, first sentence.
'Yada yada yada' etc doesn't seem to be quite how to do it, nor is outright rubbishing of others' contributions.

Re: New Indian Torre del Mar
Here we go again, this is the best Indian, no this is the best Indian, yada yada yada. Everybody to their own. Quite right, Bob. Was aware of that as I wrote. New Year's resolution: Add restaurant preferences to the long list of 'Everybody to their own'. Other items on the list include engine oil a...

Re: New Indian Torre del Mar
The "all dishes taste the same" doesn't seem to apply to Taj Mahal Torre, or Taj Mahal Puente (Venta Baja), where brothers Rashid and Ali, respectively, seem to take a lot of care with their dishes. Both restaurants major on a large number of regular customers. Menus for these two are iden...

Re: Punto Limpio
If you turn up in a private car, all should be well. Try not to do it in a van, or there could be a challenge about 'trade waste'.
And on old engine oil - if that affects you - a maximum 5L container size. 20L containers are not accepted.

Re: Faulty Towers Dining Experience
That makes the situation quite clear, and much else besides. As an international forum moderator myself (with 30,000+ subscribers), I and my colleagues always aim to be supportive of members, and respectful of their viewpoints, all the time they are reasonable and rational in their posts. It is a sh...

Re: Faulty Towers Dining Experience
I see there is now a second large advertisement from the same source, opening in a second post. By all means let there be advertisements on the Forum, but not positioned as posts which simply appear as normal topics and threads. If the Events section is to continue (no problem with that), then it sh...

Thanks, Sid.
Quite understand the economics of the Forum, and the need for income.
In that case, Rule 2-1 Advertising needs revision, to make it clear that the rule does not apply to the Events section.
As the rule stands, the above post is in breach of the Rule.

Re: Faulty Towers Dining Experience
I cannot understand how this advertisement post is compatible with the Forum rule (2-1 Advertising, para.1) on advertising of commercial services by members. A paid-for display ad is one thing, but using thread-slots is surely quite another matter. Could Admin please clarify?

Similar here: when my wife reached pensionable age, although I hadn't, I was accepted on to the Health System here as a dependent. When I reached retirement age, I was re-categorised and issued with a new card.

No sign of OBD at Algarobbo on 28 November.

Re: Dynasties in UHD on BBC Iplayer
We learned today that Eastenders is still being filmed/recorded in SD, because the ancient set (at Elstree) is now so tatty that HD would show it up! I post this merely as a technical comment, of course. On the BBC UHD-4k front, I'm note sure how much of their terrestrial transmitter network in the ...
