Hi Gerry,
Many thanks for your reply. I'll check that out. Don´t think I´ve got more electrical appliances than average. No air con for a start. But I will double check. Many thanks again.

Electric Fire
Hi, I wonder if someone would be able to help me with their, I am sure, superior knowledge. I have just bought an electric fire from the UK and am waiting for it to be shipped over shortly. However, I suddenly realised that I wasn't 100 per cent sure if the fire would work over here in Spain (I know...

Re: Electricity Cables
Hi,
Many thanks for your kind replies and help.
Enrique is probably right. This job could well be above my pay grade. But I did manage to disconnect the old lamp. Thanks for reminder about turning off the electricity as well. Always valid. Will have a go today.
Once again thank you.

Should I connect blue with blue and brown with white. There is no earth (yellow and green). Would be grateful for any input as don...

New Kitchen
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone would be able to recommend a reasonable kitchen company in Coin. Sort of budget range but nice. Also, anyone able to point out those to steer clear of. Would be grateful for any advice.
Many thanks.

Re: Tax Residency Status
Thank you for everyone's kind contribution. In some ways it is straightforward. ie. More than 183 days a year in Spain then you are considered Tax Resident. But of course things are never that straightforward as we all know. If someone were to fall below both Spanish and UK tax thresholds where they...

Re: Computer
Just a quick one to thank everyone for their very useful contributions. Still haven´t come to a final decision though. Will have to have a long think first....just to try to weigh up the pros and cons. I suppose ultimately it is just down to personal choice isn´t it and what you are happy with isn´t...

Computer
Just a quick question. Would it be better to buy a new computer from Amazon or from somewhere like Worten or Al Campo. Personally I am veering towards Amazon as choice and detailed specs and general opinions and reviews from the public at large together with price make it more of a safer bet. Also, ...

New Computer
I´m going to buy a new computer. I was going to buy it in UK but wonder if it would be OK to use here in Spain. Would it makes any difference if I bought it in UK or would it be better if I bought it here in Spain. Any advice would be gratefully acknowledged. Obviously, the reasons for buying it in ...

Re: Embargo of Town Hall Bank Account
Yes, you probably right Anyroads. Possibly not a great idea as hundreds if not thousands of ordinary people freezing accounts of Big Organisations would perhaps cause a little chaos.
Interesting though.

Embargo of Town Hall Bank Account
Hi Just a thought. I know it is possible for Companies, Town Halls etc to place embargos/freeze bank accounts of people who owe money to them but, theoretically speaking, can an individual who is owed money from a Company perhaps say like Endesa or Orange or suchlike, or is due a refund from the loc...

IPTV set top box
Still haven´t sorted my UK TV yet. I was wondering though. Could I just buy my own set top box that had a wi-fi port and then pick up the signal from my computer. Then would the programmes be streamed to my TV? It´s just that I don´t want a monthly subscription sort of thing and really not too bothe...

Re: Has anyone actually lost their TV signal yet?
Hi
Could anyone tell me if streaming TV through my TV will incur additional cost from my Spanish Internet Provider???? It would be a handy stop gap until I get myself sorted out but am a bit worried I might be incurring a big bill????? Would anyone know perhaps?

Re: How to find the BBC Thread Then????
Hi Yes, my secret is out I´m afraid. I do like my TV of an evening. Although not every evening I hasten to add. But if there is something on that I particularly want to see, then yes I do like to try and catch it. I am all at sixes and sevens at the moment with the "big switch off". I had ...
