Re: Rental deposit return

The landlord is Spanish and I agree, re the payment for outstanding months. As mentioned before i will agree anything reasonable but wont be fleeced. Annoyingly he and the agent both remarked how amazingly well kept the place was when we handed it back. i had completely redecorated and gutted the pl...

Re: Rental deposit return

Unfortunately the 2 years with a percentage payment for any months shorter was indeed in the contract but he did verbally contradict it by saying we could move earlier if needed. In fact, when I first questioned his first threats to hit us with damages I remarked that I was dissapointed as we had be...

Re: Rental deposit return

Good advice Gerry and appreciated. I read through the Citizens Advice info and it looks like were not covered by the latest legislation (pre 18 Dec 2018) so he could enforce the charges for not completing the agreed 2 years. I will give him another fortnight as he will definitely have the quarterly ...

Re: Rental deposit return

Indeed, we are uk landlords in the UK and the deposit scheme does work well. We just never realised it existed here. Additionally, though the initial rental was for 2 years he did say that after 6 months we could go with 30 days notice without penalties. Now hes threatening to charge for a percentag...

Rental deposit return

We moved out of a rental property, which as far as we are concerned was well looked after. We handed over fine and the landlord said he would refund the 2 months deposit to our account. He has since said he is not happy with the condition and is still waiting for the last quarters water bill. We mov...

Residencia sin co pago

We changed our health insurance last year to the dearer policy descriibed as being "sin co pago" and acceptable for residencia applications, (Caser Activa) Now, as we come to apply, our gestor states that the small print includes Co pago for psychology, max €8. Not a lot but she says the p...

Bottle brush bush

Obviously not the bush's real name but the last place we lived in had a beautiful bush, seemed drought tolerant, the flowers resembled bottle cleaning brushes. Bright red and yellow. Anyone got any ideas of their real name?

Solar water heating

I understand the politics behind the taxation and subsequent drop in solar electric system sales but the relevant lack of solar water heating systems, particularly compared to countries like Cyprus surprises me. Im thinking of installing one but there's not a lot of info around and a suprising lack ...

Re: Pool help

So, now my water stats are all good. Ph,CL total alkalinity all good. However its still, chalky/milky/cloudy There's a white powder floating about that flies around when i vacum. When doing so the filter goes into the red. I then backwash and start again and about 20 minutes later i need to backwash...

Pool help

Just moved into our new place and the pool water is incredibly cloudy. I checked the CL and ph. The CL is high the Ph low. Im using the simple liquid reagent tester and the ph is yellow, indicating below 6.8. Ive added several doeses of ph incrementor enough to raise it by nearly 2 decimals, still n...

Re: Gas heater flush

Bob, Thanks again. we dont have a pup but good pressure fro town water supply. I guess the first step is to fit a filter unit into the supply line. Anther question though, will a descale filter unit reduce the supply pressure?

Re: Gas heater flush

Cheers Bob, i think i understand the link between the optimum flow rate and delivery temp but it seems a big drop to less than half. Almost every isolation valve in the house is scaled to hell so i guess i will contact a plumber for a flush, and maybe an in line descaler like yours. Thanks for the a...

Gas heater flush

Just bought a house with an old looking tankless propane water heater. It heats up fine but the flow is weak. Its marked up as an 11L boiler but, after measuring the flow from various points, one directly from the boiler outlet, the best i can get is about 5liters a minute. Were in a particularly ha...
