Re: First actual problem re:Brexit
It's interesting how the low countries appear so often on those account closing lists, I wonder if it's exceptionally hard to get banking licences there or is the client base just so miniscule it isn't worth it (presumably all the posted diplomats etc retain UK addresses, so this doesn't concern the...

Re: Non-Resident 90 days in a rolling 180?
Just a thought, but the Telegraph and Mail are dire on this and it's probably because they don't want to let their readers know what they conned them into. I'd recommend Simon Calder who writes for the Independent. Here's his latest: Your arrival date in the Schengen Area – which covers most EU coun...

You need to complete the Modelo 030...basically tell the taxman about your change in circumstances..link below https://www.agenciatributaria.es/AEAT.internet/en_gb/Inicio/Ayuda/_comp_Consultas_informaticas/Categorias/Presentacion_de_declaraciones/Censos__NIF_y_domicilio_fiscal/Modelo_030/Presentaci...

Re: Changing from resident to non-resident tax declaration - what needs doing?
Just because you have spent more than 183 days away from Spain doesn't mean you lose your tax residence. Indeed it is possible to have tax residency in both UK and Spain. In which case you have to read the Double Taxation Agreement to see which country takes primacy in taxing you. A good point, tha...

Thanks, getting to the bottom of that it seems to just be that you do the NR one and hope for the best!

Changing from resident to non-resident tax declaration - what needs doing?
Hi all, After working in Spain 5 years we've been stuck in the UK the last year because of Covid and ended up renting a house, getting jobs etc. We've been here well over 183 days and will need to do our 2020 declaration as non-residents (NR). As Spanish residents, we would do this before June 2021,...

Re: can't access 'portalweb.prpmalaga.es'
Not for that site specifically, but sometimes the security certificates on websites throw a wobbly if your computer clock time is different to the site's server, so if you get "Invalid Server Certificate Error" try setting your British PC to Spanish time temporarily. This is nothing to do ...

Obtaining padron colectivo
Back in March I was on the town hall website and managed to get an individual padron certificate for myself, and a 'colectivo' one for everyone at the property. That latter option seems to have disappeared now - does anyone know if I'm missing something on the website (has it moved somewhere obscure...

Re: Padron deregistration after move
Yes, I did that in December and now find myself on the padron in two autonomous regions.
Torrox has a 'baja' option on the website but the other town hall does not, so presumably it's meant to work automatically up there.

Re: Padron deregistration after move
Well my old town hall don't offer an option to de-register, so not entirely sure where to go from there!

Re: Disappearing History
History is something I'm fairly passionate about too, so this is a long post... First things first: history cannot disappear because it has never been settled - history is by its very nature the reinterpretation of limited selections of the past. It can never tell all of the past, and the narrative ...

Padron deregistration after move
Hi,
I changed my residence over Christmas and am back on the padron in Torrox, but I just logged into my old town hall in the northwest and don't seem to have been taken off there yet. I was informed this would happen automatically - incorrect info, or just COVID19 delay do you think?

Re: Forum forgotten password links don't work
You're sure the link in the email works? I'm not talking about getting the email, it's the link *in it* that is broken. I had a guess at various permutations of the URL included and none worked.

Forum forgotten password links don't work
Hi, there's a problem with the site password reset function - the links in the reset email don't work, always goes to a 404 page.
I seemed to have changed mine on an older phone and forgotten about it, so was trying to reset on my computer. Didn't work.
Thought best you know.

Re: Coronavirus
Around 75 million died during the war. It took a few decades before Monty Python type programmes surfaced. This is not a war. Not disagreeing with your point, but for relevance, only 20m died in WWI all counted then 50m died from the flu the troops brought back with them. So the earlier war is more...

No idea, one of the advantages of getting certificates online is it doesn't matter if they are or not

Re: How do I get the padron certicate online from Torrox?
OK, answer my own question - it's not on the Torrox site! You have to go to the main sede administracion of the government and agree to the notificaciones pendientes in the carpeta here https://sede.administracion.gob.es/carpeta/clave.htm This seems bizarre to me as the last place I lived you just d...

How do I get the padron certicate online from Torrox?
I have [email protected] etc so 've submitted two requests for it via the sede electronica of Torrox town hall, and have downloaded signed receipts of my request, bit I don't seem to be sent, nor able to find on their site, the actual certificate. What am I missing?
Thanks.
Thanks.
