Re: Youtube downloader extensions

I seem to remember some time ago when Google acquired YouTube, they got rid of the downloader extension for Chrome.

Re: itv Hub Now TV

She is not looking for a channel that doesn't exist is she? It might be worth reminding her that ITV1 changed it's name to ITV some time ago. It might sound obvious to many, but to elderly people in particular, they are not always aware that the name was changed and wonder why they no longer can see...

Re: Homeland on catch-up

My advice would be to stick with it. Admittedly I am biased as I think it's a superb programme overall, although during the course of it's 8 seasons there are certainly a few average episodes here and there. If you enjoyed the 1st two seasons, it's definitely worth persevering with as there are some...

Re: UK PAYG mobile providers

Wicksey, switch to their £7 a month plan. £2 a day is daylight robbery, at least D1ck Turpin had the decency to wear a mask. https://www.virginmedia.com/mobile/sim-only/pay-monthly-sim?contractDuration=12&tariffID=1509710961 I ditched Virgin a while back. I use 1pmobile which is 1p a minute or 1p a...

Re: Alternative Messaging Apps

I don't see the problem with using WhatsApp as it uses end-to-end encryption which ensures only you and the person you're communicating with can read what's sent.

That isn't likely to change is it?

Re: Terrarium tv alternative?

I was considering Tea TV as well, but there are lots of comments that many of the programmes/films come up as "No links available"

It would be interesting to hear how common this problem is.

Very clever by Amazon as it coincides with the time a lot of people will be doing their online Christmas shopping.

7 out of 8. I got the same one wrong as most other people but I still think when in doubt be cautious.

Has anyone else found in the last week or so you now have to login every time you visit http://www.tvguide.co.uk/ - It no longer remembers who you are and your TV channels? Annoying.

Re: Internet TV

Thanks for that. I tried several channels, Spanish & UK with mixed results.

BBC1 in HD was superb. Eurosport2 was buffering and not showing the advertised programme. Teledeporte would not load at all. A few others were perfectly watchable even though the quality of the stream was not great.

Another option - you can easily install Kodi onto a laptop or tablet. There is always the option to then connect to your TV via an HDMI lead.

Re: UK Kodi bust

I can never understand why most people pay extra for fully loaded boxes when it's so simple and cheaper to buy a blank box (or just add Kodi to your laptop/tablet) and then add your choice of Add-ons for free.

There are numerous tutorials on Youtube telling people how to do it.

Re: Good downloading sites for films.

Download Kodi onto your device.

You will have access to literally tens of thousands of movies and TV programmes, many in HD quality.

There are loads of Kodi tutorials on youtube if needed.

I used to use this site (before I discovered Kodi) to stream TV programmes, but there is an option to download if that's what you prefer.

Re: The "Back" Button using Chrome

I have just found a "Back to Back" browser extension for Google Chrome in their Chrome Web Store. - It restores the backspace back navigation feature in the browser. Note that it requires permission to read and change data on web pages you visit. The extension works right out of the box which means ...

The "Back" Button using Chrome

Does anyone find the "Back" button no longer works using Windows 10, Chrome - No problems with Firefox. If eg I click on something, to return the previous page, out of habit I am used to pressing "Back" on the keyboard. Now I have to use the mouse and click on the browser back button. Just wondering...
