Re: Diseased grapes?

Wow that's a lot of wine from one vine. I don't get that much from 20 vines. I prune mine hard back very winter. Do you?
What's the wine like ? I only make grape juice.

Re: Changing Residencia Nationality

Hi, I booked an appointment at the new Police Station in Torre del Mar. I took the two passports and copies, with existing Residencia card + copy, plus EX18 form + copy and Tasa form (paid) + copy, but also took all the stuff I would need if I was applying for Residencia for the first time, i.e. pro...

Re: Changing Residencia Nationality

I took all my paperwork just in case, but all she wanted to see was my UK and Irish passports. As I said, just a different card and change on their database.
Maybe, if you try again, might get someone who knows what they are doing.

Re: Changing Residencia Nationality

Sorry what do you mean your years residencia doesn't count? As far as I understand, when you change the nationality for the Residencia, all that happens if they give you a new card, (which states Irish instead of British), which I have now got. They also update their database to reflect that, so I w...

Re: Changing Residencia Nationality

I have now changed my Residencia from British to Irish, fairly straightforward, just really needed my Irish and British passports with copies and my existing Residencia card. The only slight concern was that the woman doing it implied that I might have to inform the Tax authorities, trafico regardin...

Re: Diseased grapes?

Sounds like some type of mildew, either downy or powdery mildew. Any sign of any yellowing or mildew on the leaves? It's a fungal disease, not sure if you can get any chemical to treat it, (if you use them). Think all you can really do, is prune branches to make the vine more open and keep the area ...

Re: Disappearing History

So you think that the Germans should have not removed statues to Hitler and the Iraqis not toppled the monuments to Saddam, the Spanish got rid of place names glorifying Franco ? Has removing those items really suppressed history in those countries ? Have the Germans forgotten about the Nazis ? Thes...

Re: Disappearing History

Funny how no one has picked up on what I said re: a Jimmy Saville statue. Why is that ? Look here in Spain, how many statues to Franco and his hench men were removed ? Not only statues, they actually moved his body from the Valley of the Fallen. Is that changing history ? Of course it isn't. History...

Re: Disappearing History

I think people have really gone overboard with some of their comments here. We are talking about removing one statue here, its not the fall of Western civalization. As I said in earlier comments. I bet most of you didn't think it was wrong to remove statues in Eastern Europe or elsewhere a few years...

Re: Disappearing History

I think you are missing the point, his statue is obviously very insulting to many black people, (and a lot of white people) in Bristol. It doesn't really matter why it was put up in the first place, the fact is that it is celebrating someone who did do evil things, regardless of his charitable deeds...

Re: Disappearing History

I see your point about mob rule, but as I said earlier, did you object when they tore down statues of men who ruled their countries for decades ? You don't need to destroy the statues/monuments, they could be stored in museums, perhaps with an explaination of the person's actions. Telling his full s...

Re: Disappearing History

I honestly don't see how removing a statue changes history. Statues have been removed or destroyed throughout history, going back to the Romans, if not further. People's interpretation of history evolves over time, as new facts emerge, historians and others re-evaluate what they thought they knew ab...

Re: Request by Tax Office for info on UK Tenants

As I said I didn't feel comfortable asking tenant for Passport number or NI number, (which in case they have no obligation to supply). Tax office appeared to have accepted having a blank in that box.

Re: Coronavirus

Paulinmalaga: I only posted on Sweden because an article in the press said that they were no worse off than the UK for not isolating BUT they still have their economy. So I don't know why they compared Sweden with the UK when you write: "Comparing Sweden to the U.K is impossible due to many factors...

Thanks, that helps. I have emailed the accountant and said just to put a 'No Hay' in the relevant box, as suggested.

Request by Tax Office for info on UK Tenants

My accountant is submitting my Renta for me and as now emailed me to say that the Tax Office wants to know the NI/Passport numbers of my tenants in the UK house that I am renting out. I have explained to them that this is not normally supplied by Tenants, but they are insisting that they can't submi...
