Re: Purchasing Property

Good luck Lisa. At the end of the day everyone has to do what they think is best. Living in the "wilderness" for 10-15 years sounds like a good plan, however, the people I know who planned to do just that didn´t plan to get ill either and got into difficulties, that is all I will say. Good luck with...

Re: Spanish attitude to guiris & vice versa - chicken or egg?

"The Spanish hate foreigners, and particularly the Brits". So if you have a Spanish wife, does that mean she hates you? In the tourist industry, hotels, restaurants, etc. they are glad to receive foreigners, especially in Andalucia as tourism is what brings in the majority of the income, and last ye...

Re: Purchasing Property

Hi Lisa, I am really happy for you, this is an exciting time. When purchasing a property in Spain, it sounds great when you are far from anybody, high up in the mountains with great views and the nearest neighbour is half an hour away. But, I have seen a lot of couples retire to Spain and fall into ...

Re: Estate agents in Antequera area

HI Barry

Thanks for the information. I wouldn't use that agent anyway, 8% is a bit far fetched. Talk about the English ripping off their own.

Beer / long glasses

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know of a good place to buy glasses (the long tubo type) - are there warehouses with second hand stock anywhere in Malaga? Or any good places to buy online. Need to stock up a bar with beer/wine/long drinks glasses.

Thanks for any help.

Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant (not too pricey) to celebrate New Year's Eve in Nerja?

Best regards

Re: Curry restaurant in Humilladero

Went for a curry this weekend, the service was so slow and the waiter kept filling up our glasses. I think he must be struggling to make a living. There were only a dozen people in the whole restaurant and our meal took 3 hours, we had to wait practically an hour between courses. The old trick of tak...

Curry restaurant in Humilladero

Was passing by the curry place in Humilladero last week and it sounded like a working man's club - singing, loads of Brits - it might even have been karaoke. Wanted a quiet curry but decided to pass. Wonder what's happened to that place, it was so nice before.

cave houses

I am curious - is it true that a cave house keeps the same temperature all year round, i.e. no need for much heating in winter or cooling in summer?

does anyone live in a cave house?

I would like to stay in one for a weekend just for the experience.

Free tapas

Hi guys, In some bars inland in white villages such as Alameda, Campillos, Ronda, Antequera a free tapas is given with every drink for about 1.50 euros. In Granada the tapas are huge, teaplate or small dinner plate size as opposed to a saucer. Do you get free tapas where you live? I am interested to...

Re: Garden wall

Thanks for your replies guys. The neighbours are Spanish, they are a bit strange, never wanted to talk to anybody let alone us. They only use the house at weekends for family and friends. The wall was built a few years ago and yes, we did have a result in that we did not have to pay for it, but does...

Garden wall

Hi there, Our neighbours ripped the old chain link fence that was there before and built a new wall of concrete bricks. They did this without consulting us, we had no idea they were going to do it, one day a jcb was in the garden ripping it all up. Fine. They paid for the whole wall and did not cons...
