Re: Getting a Spanish Passport

The reason’s in his name. Manchester. The answer? The weather.

Reminds me of an acquaintance I have who has the nerve to say “the only Spanish people I want to speak to speak English”.

Re: Is PCR test required for entry to Spain?

Cases are 21 per 100,000 in the uk. Negligible compared to Spain. Spain I thought said that would mean no PCR test as long as the uk case rate did not rise ABOVE 50/100,000. No way that will happen before next week. I suspect Spain will, link it to green lighting canaries and Balearic. The same day ...

Fit to fly PCR test

I’m catching a ferry to Spain arriving 14:00 on the 2nd June (hoping border restrictions have been eased). I will need a PCR test not more than 72 hours before I arrive. But most of the express tests near us “aim” to get the result back by 10pm the next day but state that in “exceptional” circumstan...

Yes you can enter if you’re a resident. That’s why there are flights. If not it may be a very quick visit!

Re: Is PCR test required for entry to Spain?

My ferry for 31 May was cancelled today. BF rang me to put me on the ship Galicia on the 1st June. Hoping spain opens its borders for June 01 as I’m hearing France is closed until 9th June for non resident Brits.

You may need new filter or sand or the more modern stuff. After installing my water was amazing!

Re: Building options

I’m pretty sure you will be required to use a spanish qualified/registered architect. He will advise on regs. There is nothing to stop you using British workers. Especially as spanish have very little knowledge about things lie damp proof courses, guttering and uk quality internal plastering. For th...

Re: Travel Covid requirements

Think I may have been gazumped by a hotel in Nice I booked for May. Email from booking.com informs me booking has been cancelled by hotel. Hotel still taking bookings but almost double the price. Maybe it’s because I’z a Brit   Was going to cancel anyway as 10 days isolation still in pla...

30km/h in urban areas

Has anyone heard about the new urban speed limits and where they apply. Someone told me all current 50km/h zones will automatically become 30km/h zones. If so that will certainly slow things down...

Sadly the birds got 50% of our cherries. But the other 50% were delicious.

Reminds me of Prince Philip’s infamous quote: “if it has 4 legs and isn’t a chair, if it has wings and isn’t a plane, if it comes from the sea and isn’t a submarine, the Cantonese will eat it!” RIP.

Re: New restrictions extended??

Sadly i think there will be an uptick in Spanish cases due to the Easter confusion in a week or two. Unfortunately the only way to control this thing is virtual lockdown until sufficient numbers vaccinated. However that would mean no meeting indoors, closing bars, restaurants, non essential stores -...

Re: Masks on the beach

There may be light at the end of the tunnel. Some on here are reporting that vaccinations are picking up. In a month or so cases could drop like in the UK which is under 50 per hundred thousand. All could change when immunity increases. We’ve only got low cases because we have effectively been lock...

I doubt it’s paprika. They taste neither smoky nor spicy. Definitely some sort of rub. Maybe even just good seasoning.

Re: Would You Dob Someone in to DHSS/HMtax etc

So how does this work? In the brief time i was on jobseekers i had to sign in every two weeks and every month i was called in for an "assistance" interview. I presume long term disability, but even those are called in for check ups, aren't they?

Re: Seasoning for steak.

Based on taste alone i would say its garlic salt. But over to the experts.
