Reminds me of Prince Philip’s infamous quote: “if it has 4 legs and isn’t a chair, if it has wings and isn’t a plane, if it comes from the sea and isn’t a submarine, the Cantonese will eat it!” RIP.

Re: New restrictions extended??

Sadly i think there will be an uptick in Spanish cases due to the Easter confusion in a week or two. Unfortunately the only way to control this thing is virtual lockdown until sufficient numbers vaccinated. However that would mean no meeting indoors, closing bars, restaurants, non essential stores -...

Re: Masks on the beach

There may be light at the end of the tunnel. Some on here are reporting that vaccinations are picking up. In a month or so cases could drop like in the UK which is under 50 per hundred thousand. All could change when immunity increases. We’ve only got low cases because we have effectively been lock...

Re: Seasoning for steak.

I doubt it’s paprika. They taste neither smoky nor spicy. Definitely some sort of rub. Maybe even just good seasoning.

Re: Would You Dob Someone in to DHSS/HMtax etc

So how does this work? In the brief time i was on jobseekers i had to sign in every two weeks and every month i was called in for an "assistance" interview. I presume long term disability, but even those are called in for check ups, aren't they?

Reflecting I now think it may be a veiled threat to the EU. Get jabbing or lose Brit tourism this summer. I bet Boris’ phone has been red hot today!

Re: Travel Covid requirements

This is ridiculous. I have a house which by July will have been empty for 7 months. I will have to pay people to in and air the place to avoid damp and other problems. By mid May my wife and I will have had two jabs so why the flying expletive can’t we go to our house, if necessary only leaving to s...

1. Buy a property for >€500,000
2. Apply for a Spanish “Golden Visa”
3. What problem?

Sid, I’m with Endesa and am on the 50 hours free tariff. Is there a dual tariff as I haven’t noticed it. I was on the midnight to midday tafiff but didn’t think the price difference worth it.

Re: Vaccine war with EU

In the uk those vaccinated with AZ have a lower incidence of blood clot issues than the general population.

Could the EU problem be that AZ is perceived as a UK based company? Surely not.

Thanks all. I’m always amazed that “global” companies such as Vodafone do not think or act “global”.

Losing spanish sim

Not been out since end November. My wife has already had her sim terminated as she missed the message a few weeks ago telling her to top up. I am now afraid I will lose mine. I have tried going to Vodafone.es and the mivodafone app but both collapse after the top up number and amount are entered. Th...

Pool heat pump usage

It’s unlikely we will be over until mid May but can anyone advise on how to get the pool up to temperature (IMO 28C). Is it best to turn it on for 24 continuous hours (for example) or, say 6 hours during the heat of the day. Solar cover on all the time.
