Re: Fit to Fly

They just phoned me up to check I’m home. Confirmed the pre 19th rule applies so it’s 10 days. And day of arrival is day zero!

Re: Fit to Fly

We arrived back yesterday to the uk. Obviously had the pretest and ordered the day 2 and 8 tests. But are we still to isolate after the 19th? I understand we have to do the tests but do we have to isolate - because those entering uk from Spain on Monday only need the pre test and day 2 test.

Potencia standing charge

I can’t find a schedule of charges for the various potencia levels (Endesa). I’m thinking of increasing it but need to know the financial implications. Is there a page on the Endesa app for this as I can’t fnd it. I can fnd the page for changing the potencia but it has no financial details.

Re: Ee reintroduce roaming charge

Oh well, I’ll change operator but the problem in my uk Village is that ee is the only operator to get indoors coverage. Rely on WiFi I suppose. Certainly not paying £2 a day or £10 a month.

Re: Ee reintroduce roaming charge

olive i think youre only charged the £2 a day if you use it as a "phone". they dont charge you for surfing the net, whatsapping etc. SO yes, you would get a charge if your ebanking app sends you a text (not an email) with a code to verify your account or payment. I think you would still be...

Tapas trail nerja

Tried one of the old tapas trails in Nerja last night and saddened by the closed doors on los Bilbainos (the commie bar), Mariposa and an old favourite, Valero. Hopefully not permanent. The others were open but much quieter than in years gone by. Time to end this nonsense about travel from uk to Spa...

Re: Visa residency options

No, not annuities. Final salary pensions so treated the same as employment income, with none of the advantages of annuity or private pension provision. It means the tax penalty of fiscal residence is prohibitive sadly. But we’re not complaining - we’re lucky to have such a “problem” and happy to enj...

Re: Visa residency options

I presume you are a UK citizen and don't hold any other passports. First bit re tax residency. It is possible to be deemed a tax resident in Spain without spending 180 days in Spain. It is possible to be non tax resident even if you spend more than 180 days in Spain. Read article 4 of the double ta...

Visa residency options

We would like to stay in Spain for up to 6 months in one go. Not possible under the new rules. We would never exceed 180 days a year. Am I correct in saying that the non lucrative visa demands a stay of longer than 183 days and therefore I become tax resident? For my income and tax advantageous uk a...

Pahuna Nepalese restaurant Nerja

Loved our meal here. I think it’s newish? We asked the charming waiter for typical Nepalese dishes (as they also provide some usual Indian dishes) and they were delicious. He also explained the caste system and that certain castes were not allowed certain dishes. Good service, good food, reasonable ...

Re: Changes to Electricity Tariffs

I have only just heard of the news and I’m confused. Looked at my Endesa app and it says I’m on tariff “tempo happy”. That’s today, June 9th. So do this mean Endesa will soon switch me to the new time zones? From the posts earlier I assumed everyone was switched to the new time/cost periods n 1st Ju...

Re: No tourists until after summer

Can someone enlighten me. I thought Spain’s borders were closed to Brits unless they are residents. But I know of at least two families who have ferried across to visit their 2nd home. What exactly is or is not being enforced at the border or ferry terminal.

Re: No tourists until after summer

Hi Pamela Pretty sure it is the general NHS App. Blue in colour opens up with "how are you feeling today?" with "continue with NHS login?" below. Yes that's the one, it didn't ask for a passport when i did it and neither did the app take a pic, strange.. :? It must have already ...
