Re: Some laptop keyboard keys not working
You have tried cleaning it I suppose? A good blast with one of those compressed air in a can thingys can move all sorts of debris lurking under a key. I expect you have done this, but it does sometimes work.

Re: I'm Happy in Spain !!!
This has brought back some happy/sad memories for me. When this thread started I was happy living in Spain with no intention of going back, sadly OH's health was suffering and he wanted to go back to the UK, so with a heavy heart we put the property on the market expecting to still be there now, and...

Re: Dentists and dental insurance... argh!!!!!
I always used the local dentist in the village - she was trained and worked in Madrid for years and her partner actually commutes 3 days a week to the village from Madrid. No point in me recommending her - Casariche is miles away! What I would say is ask the locals who they use, dentistry prices in ...

NHS costs £17.50 for a check up, £48 for treatment - fillings, extractions root canal etc and a max of £209 for crowns or dentures. If you need treatment, the £17.50 is taken into account I think prices went up slightly on 1st April. OH is currently having a root canal and has had 5 appointments for...

A terrible disaster - and so many childen killed too. Makes you appreciate European weather - at least there is no tornado alley weither in Spain or the UK, nor do we (as a rule) get hurricanes, whiteouts, volcanic eruptions although I do remember Lorca (?) having an earthquake.

OMG I've just paid £2/12/6 for 4 pints of milk and 6 rolls! haven't prices changes since decimalisation!
Glad to see broadband prices have come down - we really did pay aabout 88€ per month - it was about 55€ if I remember rightly just to have a telefonica land line.

We find that food shopping is about the same over here as it was when we shopped in Mercadons - what is cheaper (by far) is electricity - we paid an average of 100€ a month in Spain - here its £68 a month for both gas and electric. Phone and broadband is £30 per month - we paid 88€ to Movistar! In r...

Re: UKIP looking ok :)
And there was me thinking this was a thread about how well UKIP have done in local council elections! I'm over the moon as the UKIP in Lincolnshire have now promised to do something about the potholes in the roads - far more important at the moment than party politics and a referendum on staying in ...

Re: UKIP looking ok :)
I watched the results unfolding during the day and the interviews they did with people, for example Boston, Lincs, and it was obvious why people voted UKIP, because they have no jobs, no housing and are swamped with the largest number of immigrants of any town in the UK. 3 UKIP members of the same ...

Re: UKIP looking ok :)
Well ! I am pleased to see that the protest voters ( I don't want to argue over why they vote the way they do) have turned out and they are making their mark :) A whole 29% of the electorate bothered to vote here in Lincolnshire, as a result 3 members of the same family are now councillors for UKIP...

Re: ukip policies on what to do with expats
I read the candidate statements in our local paper on Sdaturday, and would love to copy them here, but can't find them online! What is available online is that 4 of the local candidates all have the same surname - Ransome - which is causeing a bit of amusement locally! Of the 7 candidates in Boston,...
