Re: Coronavirus

In my village, Iznate, a lovely lady, Lisa Towler, is making good use of her isolation. She has started a GoFundMe fundraiser to help the poorer people of the village manage the problems the virus is causing. So far the “Covid 19 fund Iznate pueblo” stands at over 1000 euros! Some of the money is be...

Re: Easyjet

I suspect travel between countries will be the last to return to any normality. Maybe I should book my flights for Christmas.

Re: Coronavirus

It's perspective isn't it? Here in Wakefield the only thing that has altered in the shopping experience is social distancing. I went to Asda the other day and saw one shopper wearing a face mask. The till staff are wearing rubber washing up gloves. I think the view over here is that face masks don't...

Re: Malagacar.com 15% discount

Good Lord Peter, that was almost 2 years ago! Have you nothing better to do? Has the gin run out already? One of the reasons for having this forum is to provide information. I was in no way blaming the car hire company but simply showing the cost of making a mistake. I'm sure I'm not the first and w...

Re: Property valuation

It does look like Beachcomber is correct. It is all dragging on. It may well be I have to send the legalised document by courier to Spain. Anybody with experience of doing this?

Re: Property valuation

I've now been told the only true valuation is the cadastral value on the IBI?

Property valuation

My close friend died 7 weeks ago. She was UK resident with a house in Spain. Her Spanish will leaves everything to me. In her English will there is no mention of the house in Spain. I've been trying to get a Spanish estate agent to do me a valuation for the English probate but I'm getting blank look...

Re: Death, what now?

A further thought. The house in Spain is not mentioned in the English will. Do i have to declare it for English probate?

Re: Death, what now?

I'm not tax resident, I believe the house is worth about 180,000 euros and was purchased 20 years ago. When I started this thread I called her my best friend. It was much deeper than that and I have every intention of following her will.

Re: Death, what now?

Sorry, Beach, know you meant well. Thanks Sid.

She wasn't resident in Spain, just a holiday home. She has died in the UK so they are not aware of it yet.
