I was very interested in this project but the email address is either not acceptable or not recognized. Has anyone any more information?

Re: ?Mariacristina?
I am both ashamed and touched to read these posts. It is a very long time since I posted anything on A.com though it has been a very practical prop for me for many years. This last year or so has been very difficult and I have been sinking , without realising it, into a pit of depression and my physi...

Re: Places around Cordoba
The bus station and the railway station are very close to each other in Cordoba and both have a very good service covering a wide area. Easy to check there for special excursions There are direct buses to Priego and Baena, both well worth visiting. There is, however, so much to see and do in Cordoba...

Re: Good books to read
I would have commented sooner but have had major problems logging on to A.com. A small book packed with information is Hilary Gavilan's book "La Axarquia". Also well worth reading is Paul Richardson's book "A late dinner". It covers his travels around Spain exploring history and ...

Re: Chainsaw Purchase
I am in my seventies, a bit arthriticky but have to get on and cut up all my own firewood . Very sad . . . there are times when a man around the house would be very useful! I have a Bosch electric chainsaw and it is brilliant. Has an excellent safety cut out. Need to keep the chain sharp and use you...

Tortugas
I have spent much of the summer heat (remember that?) revamping my garden and hauling paving stones and mixing cement and moving earth. I have ended up with a beautiful relaxing space with a lovely fountain and pool . . . and my neighbours have donated a couple of tortugas which were born in someone...

Solar eclipse
I am sitting here with my friend and we are trying to work out what time we can see the eclipse live streamed on the Nasa website tomorrow evening here in southern Spain. Neither one of us is very bright and we cannot agree what time we should switch on. Please advise. PS. We are both quite bright a...

Re: Locked out of andalucia.com
I was locked out a little while ago because my password was no longer accepted . . . fortunately user name and email address OK, Had to wait for a new password which is too complex to remember (at my advanced age) but I just have to look it up each time . . . . must get it tattooed onto the back of ...

There is a Facebook page for "Lucena segundo mano" which advertises second hand goods in the Luena and Iznajar areas.

Indian Bean Trees
Despite having a very small garden I have grown quite a few trees from seeds . . . and then have to persuade friends and neighbours to adopt them. About six years ago I acquired (for which read "stole") a seed pod from an Indian Bean Tree. I now have a magnificent tree in my garden which i...

Re: Help! Two ladies in distress.
Enrique, many thanks for this advice. Unfortunately, the only option that works from the four offered is number 4, to switch off. The others - 1 to 3, simply freeze when you click on them, forcing me to shut down the pc with the on/off button. Then, I am back in the loop of diagnosing your pc when I...

Re: Help! Two ladies in distress.
Enrique..... this is Mariacristina's friend. It is my computer that is driving us to the point of jumping off a cliff. Regarding clicking on option 4 to close the pc down - yes, I have done this on many occasions. The pc closes down and then when I re-open it, I am, once again, back in the loop of t...

Re: Help! Two ladies in distress.
!. Thank you miro. I thought that bit of my plea for help was being ignored. I had to ask for a new (and complex) password. . . . and whenever I try to login now I am told it is not a secure site. My friend was also told it would be up to five days before her application might be accepted. Now that ...

Re: Help! Two ladies in distress.
My friend with the Toshiba had to go home as she was working this afternoon . . . and so was I. She teaches English for a living and I teach it in repayment for all the kind things people in the village do for me. My poor friend lives half an hour away from me and has moved twice in the last five we...

Re: Help! Two ladies in distress.
Thanks for your help. It's Windows 8.1. Unfortunately, I can't do a system restore because I can't actually reach that point. When I open the pc it starts immediately 'analysing your pc' and this continues for about 2 hours then it offers to restart. Then on switching on again, I am back in the anal...

!. Have just had a frustrating time trying to log on to A. com. Re: wild green figs
A rather late response . . . haven't had an opportunity to catch up with A.com for a while. The figs available now are called Higos Brevas and are mostly green but a few purple ones about. There are some on sale in the supermarkets but no one in this village would dream of paying for them! Plenty in...

Re: Chainsaw Chain Sharpening
I also have an electric chain saw sharpener and find it comparatively quick and easy to use. I have wood delivered but not ready cut into logs and the amount I save by cutting it up myself paid for the sharpener in just one delivery. I'm getting a bit old and creaky to do it now but it helps keep me...

Re: Cheap Deals in Lidl.
I'm 100% with Gordon on this. He buys up the tinned figs . . . . I head for the 30% off stickers and fill the trolley with those. I have sampled some superb cheeses that way with the added frisson of feeling a bit guilty if they are not Spanish cheeses.
