Try Killpaff plug-ins, they work a treat, even with the windows and doors open. We even use them outside when we're eating and never get bitten.

We have 2 econoheaters, 1 in the bedroom and 1 in the dining room. Our bedroom is quite large and it does take the chill off the room before going to bed and if you leave it on all night then you wake up to a lovely ambient temperature. We have ours on a timer so I don't forget to turn it off.

We have our boiler serviced once a year and the last time the engineer came we told him we'd used agua fuerte. He gasped and told us not to, so we won't do that again. Something to do with the strength of the mixture I think.

We use Frontline spray for our 2 dogs and 1 cat. The amount used depends on the weight of the animal. The spray lasts for ages so is economical.
