Re: road from alhaurin town to los morenos

So if I go on the road Coin bypass to Monda/Marbella and turn off at the Coin/Fuengirola turn off, I can now get to the BP petrol station at the roundabout opposite the restaurant but still have to go through Mijas Pueblo to get to Fuengirola/Mijas Costa? At this would save going through Alhaurin if...

Photo ID Driving License

Hi I have the old paper driving license that is stamped by the traffico in the event of being stopped by the Guardia in my Spanish registered car. I wish to replace it with a photo ID licence whilst I'm in the UK. As I have to return the old license to DVLA when replacing it, what's the procedure fo...

A 3g pre pay dongle that works on a MAC?

Further to my earlier post (viewtopic.php?f=35&t=21516) I returned my Movistar 3g dongle to the shop and they couldn't get it to work either and called Telefonica who said it there's no official support for the Mac. I got a refund but lost the 20 euros credit I added when I bought it Can anyone ...

Hi, I've come back now and downloaded a new unzip file application and installed the latest mobile connect app and it asked for the pin but failed to dial up On the one I use for Portugal (Kanguru) it automatically works on the old mobile connect, but on Movistar Spain it looks like I will have to t...

Re: Movistar 3G dongle won't work on Mac

Thanks. I´ve tried the links before and still no good and the zip file mobileconnect comes up as failed to unzip when dowloaded. I think I shall have to wait until I get return and take it back and ask why they said in FNAC it would be fine on a Mac. I have a different modem for another country and ...

Movistar 3G dongle won't work on Mac

Hi, I've just bought in Marbella a Movistar 3g gongle for travel and when you lug it in, the only software that comes up are .exe windows installers and nothing for the Mac. Can't find anything on the web and I'm hundreds of miles away from Marbella. ON the back the dongle says HUAWEI E1612 Any idea...

Re: Question about autonomo(yes, again...)

A single person pays as much for autonomy as a family with six children which is why there are so few young people going out and starting businesses

Can I make an appointment down at the Malaga office? You used to be able to just turn up but I know that's changed.

You will be connected to a wi-fi internet service via an antenna shared with many other people - a bit like an internet cafe but everyone spread over the countryside. However thereon from your house to your computer/other internet devices it is the same as wired landline connection from BT etc where...

Alhaurin BP petrol station to Fuengirola closed??

Seems to be confusing reports to say this road is closed (in addition to the Coin to Alhaurin road) for a year and that you have to go via the Mijas Pueblo road to get to the coast.

Is this true or is access still available?

Re: Civil War?

I was going to mention this a few months ago but didn't wish to be accused of scare-mongering. I think will are more likely to see a military coup than civil war. The Hispanics have a long tradition of this in Spain and across the whole of Latin America during times of economic stress. IMO this woul...

I'd read about the 200,000 additional unemployed, but haven't seen anything about half a million coming off self employed/autonomo status too. Where did you read it?

IMHP if you have used up all your savings living here for 8 months that should tell you you can't make a living in Spain. Those deals in the pipeline may not come through and or as with many, you may not get paid! The property crash has only just started and we're in for the mother of all crashes wh...

They could start by sorting out the autonomo, forcing people to pay a huge annual cost regardless of whether or not they earn any money or whether it's seasonal. The whole system discourages anyone from trying to get a business off the ground and virtually impossible from anyone leaving college and ...

Many thanks for info which is what I'd assumed and didn't know about the limits.

I would assume being fiscally resident would be important in the event of one partner dying too.

Tax returns for pensioners

Friends of ours living over here 3 years near Gaucin ( both over 65 and have residency and small property) receive their state pension paid into their Spanish bank account. They also have a very small private pension with tax deducted at source in the UK. Do they need to complete an annual tax retur...
