major.co.uk

Has anyone used the above company to buy electronic goods, ie. mobile phones ?

I've googled them for "reviews", good or bad, but can't find any.

cheers

Re: download using iplayer ?

Before I read the further posts, from being told I could download with free version, I installed free expatshield and tried it. Whenever I opened BBC iplayer site, after a few seconds, I got a "payment wall" window and couldn't get to iPlayer. Have since uninstalled it but might try again ...

Re: download using iplayer ?

Hi 10RDan, From previous Posts the conclusion was that Zenmaster doesn't allow downloads, the interface is clean and good for "live" viewing. To download your IP needs to be a UK one, Expatshield does this. Just had a look expatshield, there's a "free one" and "elite"....

Re: download using iplayer ?

How are you accessing BBC iPlayer, assuming you are using a proxy server or a VPN. I have had the same problem that Iplayer will not download with some proxy servers/ VPNs. Cheers Gerry I'm using Google chrome with "Zenmaster". Like I say, I can watch but doesn't seem to download. Can als...

download using iplayer ?

Generally, how long shouldn't take to download a program within iplayer which is about an hour long ? I know it will be "download speed dependant", but in the past, when I've checked the speed, I'm usually getting about 5 or 6mb. The "iplayer download window" opens but doesn't se...

Re: Deposit for car hire ?

i'm a regular hirer and if you have a specefic need i possibly can direct you to same.... I would be looking to hire a car for a long weekend, approx 4 days, possibly every 3rd weekend. Going to work in UK but expect to come home every 2nd or 3rd weekend. Just a basic "economy" model of c...

Deposit for car hire ?

Do most, if not all, of the hire companies at Malaga airport take an "insurance deposit" from your credit card. It's hard to work it out from all the various web sites but it seems to be something in the region of £200 to £300 ? It's a good few years since I hired regularly but I'm those y...

Re: Rooting Android tablets.

Yes, I would root but is it miles better than a stock factory tablet? Many thanks. Not miles better. As you have discovered, generally, they are rooted to free up space by getting rid of the "bloatware" and preinstalled apps. But, if yours does what you need and you don't need any more sp...

Re: vpn service AND router ?

I've been scanning the net for a while now trying to get to grips with the whole "vpn thing". I've worked out I need a new router so I can use a vpn service. Can someone suggest a company that will supply a router, and vpn, that is capable of running the vpn service. When looking at the v...

Wall ties ?

I need some "wall ties" for anchoring a new wall to an existing wall. I've bought them in the UK in the past but I'm not sure if they can be bought here. They're an "L" shaped tie, the longer leg of the L is cemented into the new wall, as it's being built, and the shorter leg is ...

remote access to wap router ?

I've been trying to do the above, without success. I can access the wap router settings ok via Wi-Fi or hardwired because, I presume, the devices are directly connected to the router. However, when I try remote access from a "third party" connection I can't. I suspect the reason for this i...

Re: vpn service AND router ?

I don't have sky or sky box, but "I know someone who has" in the UK. It sounds like I've got it all wrong re. sky go. I thought it could be used on an android device, and hopefully an android box, and was just a case of using the sky id etc and off you go ? ? What EXACTLY can be achieved w...

Re: vpn service AND router ?

I have seen the Amazon one but it doesn't have the extras built in so you would need to subscribe to a separate VPN and install it. The Adtelly one includes a years subscription for the VPN which is then £40 per year. I have been using Adtelly VPN for two years and I got my box on special offer for...

Re: vpn service AND router ?

Ok, thanks.

Had a look at your link, looks interesting. If I've read it right..... it is "ready to go" ? ?

The "vpn service" is built into the cost and the box ?

Also, it can be used via Wi-Fi OR "hard wired" ?

I hadn't a clue what I was doing a couple of months ago but I now, quite often, change the ROMs on the devices to try all the different options within each ROM, and, because I can. :o))))

Re: Rooting Android tablets.

I've done about five phones without problems. I would advise reading here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/ several times re. your device, and then read again ! Can be quite "nerve racking" the first time but I read,.read and.read again until I had it clear in my head what to do BEFORE I d...
