Re: New restrictions extended??

I thought the incubation period for covid was at least ten to fifteen days then they have to be tested by the 97% false positive PCR test and the figures filtered back so isn't it a bit soon for the infection rate to have risen as a result of Easter gatherings? Maybe someone was a bit too eager and...

Re: Vaccine war with EU

Personally, I can't understand why there is so much competitiveness. Most of it is nothing more than political one-upmanship. What is important is that everybody in Europe and then the world beyond has the the opportunity to take a vaccine. Fear and anger are just two reasons. Fear that a person mi...

Re: Travel Covid requirements

Have to say I agree with you DA. The reality will be continued hand washing, social distancing , maybe masks and in my view less international air travel ( to reduce spreading the inevitable new variants) . I still believe that cheap, instant , reliable mass testing equipment is needed. Think as eas...

Re: Vaccine war with EU

You could add in a whole raft of other folk into your herd calculations. The ones at have had CV19 - knowingly or unknowingly. I have seen various estimates from one in five to one in three. Or just leave them out.

Re: Vaccine war with EU

Y If each EU country had handled the vaccine ordering none of this farce will have happened. Sid I don't see how that would have prevented the delays caused by either production problems (from just about all the manufacturers) or concerns about serious albeit rare side effects, though. I agree, The...

Re: New restrictions extended??

Good point . I thought it was 1 to 14 days with symptoms showing 3 to 5 days but who knows. It might fit the narrative i.e. fear of god lets get vaccinated.

Re: New restrictions extended??

Well it is here. Local swimming pool bar had usual Easter. Lots of youngsters doing what kids do. Got CV19 , took it home. Now infections have rocketed . Funny thing is we cant go there except it is our postal town so can to collect packets. So we will be back in perimetral lockdown but Johnny forei...

Andalucian restrictions continue
I wonder why “ vaccination coverage in the age group from 65 to 79 years is not yet desirable. ”?

Re: Pool cleaning

Very interesting. Thanks I am going to order some of the floc gel. There are a bewildering number of the robots and as you say not cheap even offsetting the reduced electric cost. Any idea how durable they are? My pool shark works just as it did new. I am a bit concerned about something that gets se...

Re: Travel Covid requirements

I am stating the obvious but testing needs to be free and simple. As simple as say measuring blood pressure, oxygen levels, temperature. We keep being told CV will be with us forever.

Re: pollen / Costa Tropical winds

Yes masks help. Been wearing them for years. The proper ones, not the free blue ones. Now no one notices! It is all a question of degree. Using flu as an example. Some people get it and feel a bit under the weather but keep on going. Others can be at deaths door. Masks dont stop pollen getting in yo...

Re: UK and Spain income tax situation after Brexit

Oh they are pretty good at finding stuff. They found 2.40 euros worth of undeclared interest on dormant UK building society accounts I had forgotten about - 2016 tax year. Not easy to close dormant accounts. I have observed that Hacienda are good at churning out demand letters but poor at responding...

pollen / Costa Tropical winds

We always leave the poniente area each year in may to escape the worst of the pollen season. Primarily olive but also holm oaks and broom. Leaving Spain or going to the north isn't (currently) an option so we are looking at accommodation on the Costa Tropical within Granada province. While there is ...
