Re: Cordoba ( and beyond) advice please !

Drove through Cuenca 16 years ago. Had a look at the “skyscrapers” and beetled off. Not a fair visit so must go back. Teruel is lovely. Such a contrast. Small for a capital and so remote. Loved the architecture. Mudejar. Remember four things. Lovely cathedral, remoteness, an 80 year old lady doing h...

Re: Cordoba ( and beyond) advice please !

I can heartily recommend Asturias and Cantabria. We had great weather back in May but I share the concerns about the rain.. not called Green Spain without reason….. Been to lovely Priego de Cordoba today and it was absolutely exhausting with 36 degC heat. I find that summer here just seems to be abo...

Re: Perseid meteor shower

I think the starlink “ trains” were so visible because they hadn’t been aimed at that stage. Havent seen very many meteors each night until last night. Sat out , head craned back . Saw around half a dozen but have to say they werent that impressive. Might have been the light pollution. A solar farm ...

Malaga infection rates

In http://www.surinenglish.com/local/202107/27/malaga-marbella-estepona-exceed-20210727135208.html Interesting article in Sur. infection rate in four figures and the authorities are “thinking” about a curfew between 2 am and 7 am. Wasn’t that long ago that we would have had municipalities closed and...

Re: Interesting ways other countries see England

Introduce them to watching Yes Minister!

A series before its time.

The episode with the hospital with 500 staff and no patients and needing 200 more staff.

Yesterday as an aside, I concluded the only time a Spaniard hurries is when they are heading home.

Re: Covid Vaccinations Spain

Quite a few European countries are ahead of the UK in requiring Covid passes to go to public spaces, restaurants, museums etc. What was a whim 12 months ago, is now a reality. I wonder what things will be like in another 12 months time. My forecast is light self contained particle filtering helmets ...

Re: Vpn on Samsung tv

Thanks for this. I might have to resort to sharing via a pc. I am fairly sure that I cannot put the VPN on the Movistar 4G router. The smart DNS subscription I still have from satellite internet days works but only till the IP address changes. More homework ………. Hope you are keeping well and enjoying...

Vpn on Samsung tv

From my research, I suspect the answer is no. However there are some great minds on here. As my 4G router has ever changing IP address, i have resorted to Nord VPN. Successfully loaded to Amazon firestick. However it would be more convenient actually on the Samsung Smart Tv. Modest size and about 3 ...

A place in the Sun is still going strong.

Inland Malaga has just been on with John relocating to Spain in 2020. They never ask what are you going to do about healthcare or visas or learning the language.

Re: Anazon Prime deliveries

We do that. It sort of works.

We had a text at 8.32 saying unable to deliver at 8.58 ( it is a garage that is open 9 till 9 ) . Will deliver by 10 p.m. which they didnt.

Bought something from leroy merlin and they said it will come from the manufacturer direct. Omitted to put our name on it.

Re: How is everybody getting on, what with Brexit and Covid ?

I don’t believe we will ever return to pre pandemic times. Why would you have and maintain a waiting room when you can just tell your customers to wait outside ( my 95 year old father , dentist, Scarborough)? One good thing you can look forward to is the long awaited improvement of the road north of...

Crikey.

Quite a lot of ramifications. The authorities will be drowned in paperwork. Where did the money for fines go to? What about consequential losses.

Covid, the gift that keeps on giving.

Welcome back?

Do you have any info on the “Roman floor discovery “ uncovered by the new roadworks just up from the Los Arenales turn? We went to have a look last weekend and even the Copper Age discoveries had gone. In its place the new shorter cutting.
