Re: Nerja Town Bus

Thanks for the information, so annoying. I never mind walking down to the beach, but coming back up the hill on a hot day is not something I want to do. You could be right about the Taxis. At one time the 'Wally Trolley' did a much longer route and would pick up and drop off anywhere until the Town ...

Nerja Town Bus

Can anyone in the area confirm whether the Nerja Urbano Bus (Blue Town bus) goes down to Burriana beach. I know at one time it was only seasonal but not sure of the current situation, or when the season starts. Does it go all the way to the bottom of the hill? Thanks

Re: fe de vida

Apologies for raising this again but it is that time of year again. I have received a letter from INSS Malaga giving me the wonderful news that I will receive an increase to my pension of the amazing sum of 45 cents per month - yippee. Also they ask for the Fe de Vida. Last year Beachcomber kindly a...

Re: fe de vida

l am waiting with baited breath. I got the form signed in my local Job Centre Plus office. They said they have done this before so hopefully it will be accepted by INSS. I posted it on 17th May. So far my payments have not resumed, but I expect I am too soon to worry the form may have gone astray. I...

Re: fe de vida

Thanks for the quick and helpful response. Very useful. I expect INSS should have sent this form to me before sending the the letter telling me they have suspended payment because I have not provided it. My worry now is that as this is something I need to sort out every year and if it will be costly...

fe de vida

Not sure where to post this as I have not lived in Spain for more than 2 years now, but hopefully someone can help. Last year I qualified for a meagre Spanish pension which I have been receiving monthly in the UK. Today I received a letter from INSS stating my pension has been suspended as from 1st ...

Re: Car transportation

2 years ago I used a company called Cartranspain, after a bit of research, to transport my Porsche from Nerja to West Sussex. I was nervous, but it had to be done and it all went well. I have tried to find note of what I paid, but can't find it, but I do know it was not a massive amount as I was on ...

Re: UK Driving License Changes

I expect it could be problematic when hiring vehicles abroad. It will be necessary to get a one time pass code from the DVLA website that is valid for up to 72 hours. The code must be given to the hire company allowing them to check the driving history. So if anyone is picking up a hire car more tha...

Re: problems with Skyplus box

Every week or so recently my series link stops working. I tried the deleting the deleted programmes and that solves it. I am still amazed that I didn't know it kept recently deleted recordings that can be restored! But now it sometimes decides it cannot deal with recording programmes and they all re...

Re: Re-investing House Sale Money

I returned on 22nd of May of 2013. I had previously used a gestor and the two years prior to leaving, after my husband died, I was below the threshold to pay tax. I was told the 720 form was for assets outside of Spain of which I had none, and I think that declaration only started the year I left wi...

Re: Re-investing House Sale Money

Back onto the re-investing house proceeds query - should I start looking over my shoulder for the authorities catching up with me? I sold the house I had lived in as a resident for 10 years, in May 2013. It was originally in joint names, until my husband died aged 67. Long story short, transfer to o...

Re: WINTER FUEL ALLOWANCE PETITION

I have added my signature to the petition and hope that the government do reconsider their decision. My eleven years in Spain were really enjoyable, but time spent at home in the winter months were the coldest I have encountered. We heated one room with a wood burner and the rest of the house was 12...

Re: will you return to uk or stay in spain

We've been here for 12 years now and love it, we also enjoy going back to the U.K. for holidays, Spain is home and we are very comfortable here BUT we are both in agreement that when the "time comes" and only one of us is left it will be a return to the U.K. I understand this statement so well. But...

I believe the Statute of Limitations in Spain is something ridiculous like 15 years! So that will possibly not be much help in this matter. I believe in UK it is 6 years in most cases.

Re: estate agent fees

My agent in Nerja had a contract entitling them to 50% of the 1% 'holding deposit' if the sale did not progress due to the buyer pulling out. This was money taken to keep the property off the market whilst the buyer sorted out their finances and their lawyer could check legal issues and usually was ...

Re: Who to call in Medical Emergency.

Hopefully the ambulance you call will find your address OK. When my husband collapsed suddenly, I stayed with him whilst a neighbour called the ambulance (112). It was 25 minutes before it arrived which sadly was too late. They said they couldn't find the address. The house was not in the middle of ...

Re: Norwegian Air

I booked my flight from FLL to LGW in February this year. They only actually launched the route this month so there will not be many comments yet. My flight is in October. It is really handy for the cruise ports, and perfect for me as I am sailing on a Transatlantic crossing so only need the flight ...

Re: Norwegian Air

I have a flight booked from Ft Lauderdale to LGW so hopefully, fingers crossed, they will be fine. I only want a one way. BA charge $1480 one-way ($1180 for a return journey) whereas the one way flight with Norwegian Air is £210. No contest. I hate the way BA charge so much for a one way ticket, I d...
