Re: Modelo 210 - Late Payment

Update: Paid the non-resident tax today with cash at Unicaja. No questions about the late payment. I suspect I was confusing 210 payments with the IBI situation where, as Unicorn pointed out, the banks won't accept a late payment unless it's with a revised bill. I put a friend's name and address in ...

Modelo 210 - Late Payment

Just realised that I haven't submitted the form nor paid the non-resident tax for 2018, which should have been done before 31/12/2019. There is much info online, including here, about different penalties which apply depending on whether you eventually pay before or after AEAT have chased you. Howeve...

Re: Empadronamiento

Cheap? I don't think so. Maybe if you have a small house in the campo, but our initial bill is 1,200€, reduced to 900€ after the discount, plus 153€ for rubbish collection.
No, we don't live in a mansion, it's a family house in the town centre.

Re: Empadronamiento

I don't know if the discount is universal. It may be up to each ayuntamiento. There aren't a huge number of expats in Rincón, but there are loads of second homes which are Spanish owned.

Re: Empadronamiento

A few years ago we lost the 25% IBI discount for being empadronamiento. Querying the reason at the ayuntamiento, I was sent round the usual tour of the town hall: each department being unable to explain the reason why and sending me elsewhere. Eventually I was told that "Francisco" was dea...

Re: Renewing green A4 residence certificate.

One more question - do we each have to make an online appointment, or can we show up together on the same one?

Renewing green A4 residence certificate.

Does anyone have recent experience of renewing their green A4 residence certificate for the card-sized "permanent" one, at Málaga or Torre del Mar? What documentation was asked for? Our applications would also involve a change of address, would that make a difference? Does each applicant n...

Re: Checking for Traffic Offences

I was looking at the TESTRA site (https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/aplicaciones/testra-sin-certificado.shtml) to see if there were any outstanding fines, but it appears to hold data for only the previous year. If you enter a date in the advanced search section more than a year in the past you get an error...

Re: Endesa ICP and Smart Meters

does anyone know how the info is transferred from the meter to base system as I am curious to know.. It's called Power Line Communications (PLC). Just as a telephone line can carry a low frequency telephone call and a high frequency internet connection at the same time, without the two interfering ...

Re: Endesa ICP and Smart Meters

According to the electrician who installed a new power supply to my house the thin red cable is there ready for the day they start remotely reading the meters. I think this is unlikely. AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) in Spain is via PLC (Power Line Communication). A concentrator in the electricity s...

Re: Endesa ICP and Smart Meters

When we did the reform, we were told we had to run an extra wire (red, 1.5mm2) between the consumer unit and the meter box, for some future function. This we did, but it hasn't been used with the new meter. Does anyone have any idea what it's for?

Re: Endesa ICP and Smart Meters

TBH I have no problem with Endesa. Neither do I really, apart from their outragious standing charges of course. It's the local agent that causes me to lose the will to live. I should go to another office, but it's handy for going back to the house twice for the documents they didn't tell me they wa...

Re: Endesa ICP and Smart Meters

Hi McT, What happened to your original ICP, the one that was fitted a few years back........ :?: After a reform a few years ago, which included a heavy duty heat pump to run the underfloor heating, we had an electrician come in to up the ICP from 25A to 40A and to issue a boletin. He took all the d...

Re: Endesa ICP and Smart Meters

We had a smart meter fitted recently and as I was curious to find out its limits, I overloaded our 5.5kW potencia to see if the built in ICP tripped. 6.5kW for 4 minutes - no trip 9.4kW for 1 min - no trip I couldn't find any markings on the meter which stated its rating, but I did find hints on the...

Re: Boiler dilemma.

The previous posters are all correct and the explanation for the 'weird' symptoms is very simple: The boiler is turned on by a differential valve that is operated by the pressure change when a tap is opened. The kitchen tap, or the pipework leading to it, is so badly blocked that the pressure drop i...

Re: Heated Towel Rail

Alicia, Whatever came out when you friend removed the existing element was what the radiator was filled with. I suspect water - but remember, don't fill to the top. Leave a 10% expansion gap. Both the thermostatic type as per your Amazon link and the PCT type will fit the bill. Your choice. I would ...

Re: Heated Towel Rail

I should have made it clear that all you have to do is take the rail off the wall, turn it upside down, unscrew and remove the old control panel/element assembly, screw in the new one and either connect the wires in the connection box (as per the UK) or fit an EU plug and plug it in. If you have abo...

Re: Heated Towel Rail

Alicia, The element and the control panel, if there is one, usually come as an item. Do you really need a control panel? I would guess that it allows you to set on and off times and the temperature. The temperature setting is a waste of time - when would you want it anything other than as warm as po...

Re: Heated Towel Rail

You may well have sorted this out by now, but if not it may be useful to know that these days most heated towel rails can be either plumbed into the central heating system, or heated with an electric element. The result is that the threads on all the connections (all but one will be blanked off) are...
