Re: TRAINS

This was 2 months ago. Since then they changed the date twice, now from 1st December it will not be possible to use the "media distancia" trains. As the last bit says, we could campaign to bring the Cercanías trains inland. Pedrera y toda la comarca de la Sierra Sur de Sevilla, existe el peligro de ...

Re: Cádiz — a personal guide

If you get the chance, go to the Carnival, it is wonderful, they write all their own songs and design and make their costumes. Once the competition is over they play/recite in the streets in their colourful outfits and heavy make-up. It really is incredible to be there and see them perform. https://...

So as you can see, the trains will not stop in the little villages, the high speed train only stops in cities, Antequera, Seville, Granada, Malaga, Cordoba etc.

Re: TRAINS

David, you have reason to be worried. They are keeping it quiet because they don´t want people to react and protest. Once it is done, it will be very difficult to reverse, that is why all the marches / walks / protests are going on now. IF you go onto the www.renfe.es website, try booking a train af...

TRAINS

Hi everyone, Long time since I posted on this fórum, just wondered if anyone was aware that the Government plan to scrap the conventional trains "Media Distancia" which means the only trains available will be high speed AVE trains - this will affect Malaga - Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada. The original d...

Re: Translators in Hospitals

Hi Ursula There is a team of voluntary translators at Carlos Haya Hospital. They come round automatically to see you if you are English, you don't even have to ask. And they explain everything that is going to happen to you in great detail. These people are absolutely marvellous - and why should you...

The plastic flowers are appearing plentiful in the shops now in readiness for "All Saints Day" when everyone puts flowers in the cemeteries (fresh or plastic).

Re: Passports

I have booked Easyjet flights and used the ID card details (there is a choice of whether to use passport or ID card on the Easyjet booking page).

So confirmed, Spanish people do not need passports.

What an experience, Gordon, and very well described, I feel as though I've been there myself through your graphic scribes. How spooky that the cross fell off the wall.

Re: Indian in Humilladero

I was there a couple of weeks ago, we went on Monday and there were just the 4 of us in there apart from a couple of Spanish men at the bar. The food was well worth waiting for, and the people are very hospitable, we will definitely go back.

Re: Christmas in Southern Spain

In most places the Spanish like to spend Christmas Eve with their families - usually with a 5 or more course dinner which starts around 10.00 pm. When the meal finally finishes, the "jovenes" and old go out to party, all the bars and discos are alive and kicking, some until sunrise. It can be mislea...

Re: Under 60k

These days there are a number of properties that families/couples have had to hand back to the bank or building society so yes, there are genuine bargains to be had, unfortunately. Prices have definitely come down significantly.
