Re: Voting in the UK election

Katy, I dont understand your point either. I didnt ask what the views of people who live day to day in the UK are, so why be sarcastic, there seems to be quite a lot of that on this forum. Yes I have severed links, so have others who still vote. I support democracy but what is the point of voting in...

Re: Voting in the UK election

But If I have no intention of returning to live in the UK, what difference is it to me what the colour of the government is, its not going to affect me, so why would I complain.

Voting in the UK election

What are your views on voting in the UK if you are resident in Spain or any other country? Personaly I have been resident in Spain for 5 years and have severed all links with the UK exept for a bank account to pay my visa bill etc. I have no interest in voting in the UK as I do not live there. Is it...

My friend lives in Durcal which is nearer Granada and higher in altitude. Check temperatures in winter as it could be cold.

Re: Health Insurance.

make sure you read the terms and conditions of the policies. We shopped around and found that Provision Medica was a lot cheaper but the cover was rubbish compared with Sanitas. You get what you pay for!

Re: Which private medical plan?

We just researched medical plans. we look at DKV. Sanitas and Provision Medica. Make sure you read the conditions. Pro med was the cheapest but the cover was rubish. Something like only 10 days cover in intensive care and also limits on time in hospital. We decided to go for the Classic Plan with Sa...

I just bought a woodburner from Orus in Durcal. They do everything including hearths etc, but maybe it's too far from you. They did deliver to me in Almunecar though.

Re: is my car insurance expensive?

Linea Directa telephoned a few weeks ago to offer a renewal of €650 for my Freelander 2.0 td fully comp. I said it was too expensive and that I had a cheaper quote. They asked me how much the quote was and I said €510 and they re quoted €508.

Re: Premium bonds, is it time to cash them in?

I had the max allowed for premium bonds for a short while after selling my house and buying another. It was for about 6 months, I did not win a prize for only 1 month. The profit compared with an investment was just over 5%. If I was still resident in the UK, I would definitely invest the max amount...

Re: Sat Nav dashboard fixing

I think It may be better to leave the sat nav mount on the screen, without the sat nav, and a charger cable in the cig lighter, Then the theives may assume it is not in the car. I don´t know, but that is what I do.

Re: Premium bonds, is it time to cash them in?

I had the maximum allowed of premium bonds in the UK. when I moved to Spain, National savings wanted all my details again ,so that they could declare any winnings to the Spanish Tax authorities. because the tax on the winnings would have to be paid in Spain (not tax free) so I cashed them all in.

Re: Sat Nav dashboard fixing

I am not sure, but have read that sat navs and sat navs with radar trap warnings are illegal. I still use mine but put it on the passenger side for my partner to use. Therefore the driver " me" is not using it. They sell sat navs for cars in the supermarkets and every where in Spain, so who knows!
