Re: Bike license

Hello Very interested in the last post!!!!! it may solve all my problems regarding expensive car rental on my trips to spain. I have had a UK driving License since 1981, does that mean i could get a 125 moped and drive it in spain without doing a test? and if so approximately how much would the insu...

Re: Ryanair`s Liverpool-Granada-Liverpool service

It also looks like they have stopped the East Midlands to Granada flights for the winter. So it is either fly into Malaga ( never done yet!!!)or travel down to stanstead. i just hope that they resume in Spring.

Hi Silver Thanks for that link. I have searched through and there are a number of 50 metre size pools (Olympic size), however non of them appear to be covered which means that they will only be open in the summer school holidays. Looks like I may have to get a wet suit and go swimming in the nearest...

We started with a Spanish Bank but find they charge for everything and I mean everything so we changed to The Hal**x Espainia. They do not charge as long as you have 600 euro in your account and do free money transfers from UK H****X plus on-line banking. You can use your debit card in any hole in t...

Surely if you are working legally or self-employed then you would want to be registered as resident. I thought if you were working legal you needed it for your TAX purposes as non residents pay all sorts of little taxes that you do not have if resident. EG the tax is higher if you sell a house as a ...

Gonig rate for olive logs

better off burning a mixture of almond and gum tree In Alcaudete we have olive trees, olive trees and then some olive trees. The only other wood is the occasional broken pallet laying on the roadside at the industrial estate or an occasional bow from a pine tree. On a more seroius note has anyone go...

Going rate for olive logs

Yep. Already made the mistake of getting half a load of wet root with some pine logs mixed in, the pine wood burnt so fast I thought I was head stoker on a steam train. When I started burning the root I thought it smelt great but when I got up next morning and all the tar / sap had ozzed out of the ...

New or Used

:?: When we finally sell our pile in the UK and move to Alcaudete I was hoping to buy a Land-rover Defender or a Santana. People have said never, never buy a second hand vehicle. So If I'm buying new where is the best place to go and not get fleeced? Ive noticed they never put the price on cars in t...

Going rate for olive logs

 I use olive logs for heating in my casa in Alcaudete. Anyone give me an idea what the going rate for 2000kg of olive logs is? I have paid about 150 euro. I got them from a little guy in the bar where the olive farmers tend to hang out. Is there formal dealers / log merchants or is it all 'Fi...

Hi I am very new to this but to answer the question on double beds, we have a holiday home in Alcaudete and we got all of our beds From IKEA in Seville, it was a trek and had to hire a man with a van but they are very comfortable and larger than a normal kingsize. The only other places I could think...
