Re: Another Benefit lost due to Brexit
Under EU Portability rules, SkyGO (Britbox, Amazon Prime UK, etc) was available for a limited number of days (32 days IIRC) without the need for a VPN / SDNS service. Once that time limit has been reached, you needed to log into the account via a UK IP address (either someone inthe uk , or via VPN /...

Re: Loss of some Spanish TV Channels
Perhaps your aerial is not aligned correctly, or your cable is bad (sun cracked cable letting in water), or you need a mast head amplifer to help you get the signals

Re: Casting bbc and itv
The laptop is basically a "remote control" for the cast device. The cast device links and plays directly from your router The data does not flow from your router to the laptop to the cast device. Which is why if you want to stream like BBCiPlayer, you need to configure the router for the c...

Re: EPL Football's back
Strangely, Pick has returned on our old Sky box :wtf: Did they 'turn it off' just so that we couldn't watch the footie? Basically, yes. As posted above, Pick HD was on a weak frequency on the UK beam, and carried the football - on SKy and Freesat boxes Then there were two other versions of Pick, in...

Re: Best VPN for BBC Sounds downloads & iPlayer
I am also still having problems with Smarty (on a tablet) - VPN London, or 2 or 3 now won't work at all. Sometimes DNS will do the trick - but it's impossible to know whether it's going to do it or not! Raised a few tickets in the past week (as coul dnot get iPLayer to work on a router for use with...

Re: Best VPN for BBC Sounds downloads & iPlayer
I will raise a ticket with Smarty and see what they have to say. Unfortunately I persuaded my friend who is not tech minded that Smarty was one of the better ones and reasonably priced. Incidentally, they had a problem recently and sent out bills from 2014 to people who had taken out a trial, apolo...

Re: Best VPN for BBC Sounds downloads & iPlayer
Why use a VPN , as you can use the "get iplayer" programme for the PC and download radio and tv direct from iplayer...as get iplayer also gets around geoblocking...well at least it does for radio, have not tried it for ages for TV....

Re: TV with built in satellite receiver
Quite a lot of TVs these days have built in satellite receivers, and have done for a while. By scanning 19east, the tv would scan its preset frequencies for that satellite...which will be why some UK channels may be missing. "(it had the strongest signal)"...probably just the first frequen...

Re: Freesat Transponder on Humax problem
As far as I am aware, Freesat transponder is still 11427H 27500 2/3...it was when i last did a freesat scan the other day. So perhaps a small dish or LNB adjustment may help get it back...but yes, playing around with alignments may mean you lose other weaker signals.. (any one else having problems w...

Re: EPL Football's back
Pick HD is staying on the UK beam...so will be tricky to get in your area.. But there are some changes to the SD version also... The SD version of Pick on that is "free to air" and on Freesat (and Sky boxes without a card), will NOT be showing the football. But a new "free to view&quo...

Re: EPL Football's back
Sky Pick might be a problem. It's not a channel I am familiar with, It seems to be a Freeview channel. It is in my Sky EPG so if you have SKY Go, it is available but it's not in the NOW tv list. It is a Sky operated, free to air channel, available on Sky, Freesat free to air satellite boxes, and if...

BBC to show 4 live matches
Sky to show 64 matches with 25 of them free on pick tv, with the everton v liverpool match one of the free ones
BT Sport will show a total of 20 live matches and Amazon Prime will show four (nothing yet about if any of these will be free)

Re: Cancel sky subscription
Remember under EU rules, you can use Paid subscription services from one EU country in another EU country without the need for VPN / SDNS systems, but only for a limited number of days, since the rule is designed for short stayers / holiday makers, not long term or expats. This for SkyGo is 35 days....

Re: Cancel sky subscription
No. For the Sky+ hard drive to be activated, that is used by the catch up services to download onto before it is made available for you to watch, you MUST have a sky subscription. So no Iplayer Hub all4 etc But it will still allow you to WATCH the free to air LIVE channels. (Freesat boxes stream dir...

...or the satellite down for the changeover to 901. Will not be this as I901 is not in place yet! And when changing satellites, they dont stop transmissions totally. There is no loss in service. Re: Intelsat 907 / Satback Update - Major News!!!
I907 will be replaced with I901 soon....when it gets into place... When I901 takes over, you can expect all I907 services to move to I901. Then I907 goes off to gets its MEV and then off to other things. The key issue, as mentioned in the first post, is what beam / frequencies the "Satback"...
