Re: Coronavirus

I actually started this thread with the same intention but that went within days. In my opinion it was a good idea to set up at least one thread which just gave out the facts with procedures and factual information regarding getting vaccinated. Let's hope that now members use this one to offer opini...

Re: Coronavirus

It's definitely the case that The Basque Country as well as Madrid are holding some back to make sure the they can vaccinate people twice in the allotted time scale but most regions haven't done so. The UK have decided to get as many people vaccinated as possible so more people get their first shot ...

Re: Coronavirus

However, just go to the BBC website and there it is in it’s main story in a sub heading summery at the top of the page. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-55701652 Sky news also reported it, and they also answers your other question regarding when. I have read, heard and seen on TV that the most vul...

Re: Google : search list.

I don't use Google but is this anything to do with your problem: https://www.guidingtech.com/turn-off-google-app-trending-searches-android-ios/ I'm thinking of changing my search engine. The one I'm seeing that is being promoted as the new kid on the block is DuckDuckgo. Which search engine do you ...

Bizum

Does anyone else use Bizum? Many people pay me this way. Basically you download the app connected to your bank, select the contact information in your phone telephone list with the amount you want to pay and the funds arrive in seconds with a message for the recipient that money has arrived into the...

Re: Travel Covid requirements

I agree, I think we need to get back to some sort of normality as soon as possible. I think the UK has handled the whole thing really badly but having said that, they do seem to be getting on well with the vaccine part much better than Spain, which is moving along way too slowly. I was at the dentis...

Re: Don't bring meat sandwiches into Spain

Ham is not a problem because it is easy to find it here. What I might find difficult will be to bring over sausages, which I could pick up in the mini M&S supermarkets based at the airport just before flying back.

Re: Buying things from uk sellers ?

I have bought a replacement remote and some other bits from from the UK and and other countries over the last week or so and not had to pay any import tax but I this is normal. If something is imported from outside the EU, it seems to me it's pot luck whether duty has to be paid or not. I think it s...

Re: 5G in Spain

Watching ads for broadband on UK TV and in the press, it seems to me that this is another area where speeds up to 500 mbps is more available here in Spain than in the UK as well.

Re: 5G in Spain

Until last week, I didn't use anything for Sky but since Brexit it's necessary to use one. When away from the house on my laptop, phone and iPad I use the Smart DNS VPN app and at home, Smart DNS with Smarty as a back up if needed. There is a thread dedicated to this. https://www.andalucia.com/forum...

Re: 5G in Spain

I agree, It will be interesting to see what the real benefits are. I can stream football from SKY on my iPad via 4G with no problem and downloading a 10 minute listening exercise only takes a few seconds from my cloud account. I won't be in a rush to change my year old Iphone just yet .

Well we have another thread in Amigos where people are expressing their concerns about whether vaccines work, are necessary and so on. I thought this thread could be a useful so...

Re: Another Benefit lost due to Brexit

I was thinking about those who travel to countries in the EU from the UK. They don’t tend to use VPNs.
From a personal perspective, I will just have to make sure my VPN is connected while watching football when not at home. As you say, a minor inconvenience for us.

Another Benefit lost due to Brexit

I notice that sky does not work any more without a VPN or DNS outside the UK. It should have started tomorrow but it seems they brought it forward.

There is an Freeview App Fire TV TVs. Reading this, it is only for TVs with Fire TV as its smart TV service so we will have to wait and see if it will be available on all Fire sticks etc. https://www.freeview.co.uk/corporate/news/freeview-play-launches-amazon-fire-tv-edition Have you tried changing ...

Re: live Channel 4 on NOW TV and Fire Stick

I wonder if the inclusion of live TV in the apps is for the preparation of a Freeview app. I don't tend to watch live TV often anyway but where it might come in useful will be to go back over the previous days TV to find interesting programmes i might have missed. Something that isn't possible in th...

Re: live Channel 4 on NOW TV and Fire Stick

The price is the reason many people prefer Firestick. Especially the 4K version when Amazon have their massive reduction days. It is possible to side-load kodi onto it but it actually isn’t necessary. There is an alternative App Store called Aptoide TV where many Kodi type apps can be downloaded dir...
