Re: Covid Diary
I don’t think there is any science behind it as my OH with three jabs had the same symptoms for the same time as I did with no jabs. Some people get it again and again and I know lots of people, jabbed and not jabbed, who have never had it. I still do not know anyone who has died from it, though. Y...

Re: Flying and Proof Of Covid Vaccinations
In late June all I had to show was the QR code, which I had on my phone. The SPTH form wasn't needed either. You shouldn't have any problems if you have the printout.

Re: Covid Diary
Jeez just going through my first ever bout of this, 4th day in. Can confirm it's probably 20 x more potent than a serious bout of man flu. Mrs has it too but not as bad as me. Aches in every muscle, wobbly, hot/cold sweats, can't sleep and when I do I have daft dreams and ramble. Not helping when M...

Re: weather
It's usually cooler on the coast. During the recent heatwave the coastal temperatures here were normal - around 32c. It's more humid than inland because the wind usually comes off the sea. Incidentally the sea temperature at the moment is 29c which is 5 degrees above normal. That will give rise to ...

Re: Entry into Spain from UK
Katy may have a point if it truly does go back to ancient times, don't know about Spain but only the other way around...OTH flew into London before FOM on a one way ticket, ( he intended to return to Spain within 3 months but didn't have a fixed date) he was stopped by border guards who took him in...

Yes,
I used cash the last time and paid less than I expected. By credit card, I put In around 80 euros worth and get charged around 70 euros.

Re: Fuel coming down 20 cents
Prices seem to be falling quite fast now. I’m on the Costa Blanca and will be travelling back on Saturday. I have seen the prices drop from around 1.95 euros to around 1.77 in around the 10 days sine I travelled down and that is down from the peak of 2.15 a few weeks ago. Are the prices dropping thi...

Re: Entry into Spain from UK
That’s because they are not interested in tourists but Spain has the right to stop people whose intention is to live and work under the radar. It’s no different when you enter the UK, especially if as I do, you enter through a London airport. There are always hundreds of tourists. However, hardly an...

Re: Banks
Obviously, I have sympathy with the way life is changing and older people are being left behind. Actually, I have strongly criticised the banks and telephone companies, which all too often take advantage of older people’s lack of willingness to change which results in them on more expensive tariffs ...

Re: Banks
In this part of Spain it’s typical to use the phone or cards to pay for everything. My son hardly ever takes money out from the cash point.
At supermarkets older people still spend about 5 minutes to get their money out of their purse or wallet though, I’d much rather be behind someone using a card.

Re: Car hire - big changes coming
I wouldn’t say it’s that easy. My first car I bought when I came to Spain, which I passed on to my son, failed 4 times even after doing the work on it so in the end we gave up and bought a new one. We got more than it was worth from the government scheme to get old cars off the road.

Re: Tax Recovery
Yes, Now I think about it, it is possible to do it online but when I looked into it, it was more hassle than it's worth, so we made the decision to send it by paper. As you say, you have to get special software or pay an accountant to do it.

Re: Tax Recovery
It also depends how much income is received from renting the flat as it is still liable to UK taxes. My wife and I both own our rented property so can spit the income, so we are well below the yearly tax allowance. The first time we did it, I called my tax office back in the UK and a very helpful pe...

I bring serious money into Spain as do my family.Im sure you do too......Visit at least 6 times a year..The cost of maintainence is not to be laughed at, we must have spent thousands over the years on machinery and plumber/ electrical costs but even if we hadn't we spend out in the bars/shops/suppe...

I don't think you need to justify yourself. I agree that It's a forum mainly about Andalucia and the south of Spain, but some threads have a Spanish wide focus and opinions and knowledge regarding areas which affect anyone living in Spain can be useful as well, The Basque Country has a very small En...

Re: E-Gates
The rules are reciprocal. Maybe if the UK allowed Spanish citizens to stay in the UK as long as they want, then Spain will do the same. Spain is not stopping tourists and are still encouraging the Brits to come so there is no risk to Benidorm. This is to stop people entering for other reasons such a...

Re: does anyone buy wine online ?
I have bought wine online but I usually buy it as a thank you to friends and family back in the UK for a favour they have done me.
I have used various supermarkets but the last lot I got from Amazon UK. I find it very handy.

Re: ITV Hub on Samsung TV
I've just checked and I have the same problem. It used to be that live TV was not possible if the TV was noT set to UK time but now it works on both Spanish and UK time. I actually get 2 hours difference so not even UK time. I rarely watch live TV so it hasn't been an issue. I usually tune in to ITV...

That's what I do. Most places sell the sprays, which aren't very expensive. I usually spray a couple of times a summer, maybe after I've washed the car.

I don't fill up much but I've noticed since the last time I did it around 6 weeks ago, unleaded 95 rising from around 1.89 to 2.15 but since last week it has gone down again and is now 2.02 in my local petrol station.
