Re: Cyclists

There is a limit of 10kph on the footpath (yes Spain permits cycling on the path) and 30kph in cycle lanes. On the road the speed limit is the same as the motorist. Lol, wrong again. Cycling on footpath is not allowed. Some townhalls make exceptions, but in the event of incidents , the supreme cour...

Re: Masks to be mandatory from next week in Andalucia

.........u don't get fined for wearing a mask.......u get fined for disobedience, which is far more sinister and tells us exactly where we're all going!! they'll fine u for insulting them also, should u dare to talk back to them. The good news is that we can all get drunk now and drive our vehicles ...

Simple.......... They're going to apply for the latest free money (IVM) and then continue to work in the black. I'd go as far as saying........poverty doesn't exist in Spain. My partner in INSS is dealing with them everyday. He wonders how they can afford the latest iphones. Quite funny at the momen...

Re: Eviction of squatters

Firstly, u don't know the actual status of the person living in the house. I'm "squatting" in my partner's house! Secondly, u don't own the house so it's none of your business and a court would say the same. If there are anti-social issues, etc. u can only get the authorities to pester him and hope ...

Re: Applying for UK Pension in Spain

If you're resident in Spain, you apply for all your worldwide pensions (EU plus bilateral agreement countries) through the Spanish system (INSS).

Whether you've worked here or not doesn't matter.

It's a painless process.

Re: Guardia and the CV rules.

Why oh why are people referring to GC agents as officers?! I've noticed on this forum and others that Brit immigrants use the word officer. They are not officers apart from a few senior ones. So stop trying to elevate their status. Call them funcionarios, agents or a few other things. They really ar...

Re: Deposito water pressure?

I'm wondering whether my water pipes are partially blocked or, actually, the system is working as it should and I'm worrying about nothing. Mains water flows into a 15,000 litre deposito, the base of which sits about 1.5 metres above our house and is connected to a pump. At the moment when we turn ...

Re: Land Registry and Catastral problem

I don't know if you're confused or just presented your situation badly. Firstly, If a recent nota simple states that you are the owner, that means you are the owner! Nota simple is a reflection of what's on the register which is backed by an escritura. Secondly, catastro does NOT define ownership an...

I know that black olives are harvested November December, but when are green olives harvested? They seem to be green for a long time. I only have a couple of trees and would like to have a go at preserving them. Believe it or not, it's obvious when to pick them. Firstly, forget about choosing a dat...

Received similar communication couple of months ago. Just ignored it until such time as I win decent money, lol. It only affects the withdrawl of money over a certain amount from your account. Re: electrician for small repair job in Benalmadena

Doesn't anyone do household chores themselves? I wouldn't leave a Spaniard near anything in my house. If I want something done, I do it myself. Actually, _I've been doing a load of electrical work in recent times which would have cost hundreds otherwise. With the internet it's so easy to educate our...

Hi yes we were fiscal residents as had an SL company for a 12 years. I know we messed up as we did need to declare the asset but wondering what the possible fines may be. thanks I would consider you fairly dumb to do a late declaration. Wait for them to come to you. Be a little bit more spanish in ...

revereting to this thread after a while. This question really is "asking for a friend" ! I presume u made a's art591 and 592 of the Codigo Civil. The distances are general but can be defined at townhall level also. For instance, for us, a bush - half metre; normal tree - 1 metre; palm -3m; euculytus - 6m, etc. The neighbour can cut overhanging branches and also cut tresp...

Unfortunately, u put horse before cart!! Mentioning other countries is irrelevant. It's Spain and we operate to Spanish law only. U fixed the problem without consultation with your landlord, so it's totally your liability. Any problems with a rental should firstly be communicated to your landlord, v...
