Re: San Pedro to Estepona . . . Restrictions ? ?
Marbella (San Pedro) and Estepona both exceeded 500/100K this week so went into closed borders. Both now look to be heading to burst through the 1000/100K level so that would add "all non essential activity" at the next count. We crossed into Estepona yesterday for a previously arranged ap...

Apps keep closing on Samsung smartphone
Since just over a week ago, when I try to open Gmail, Google Search and some others, they flash open and then close at once. A message appears eg " Gmail keeps closing - Send feedback", and when you try, that keeps closing. Any idea what might be going on anyone please. and what can I do t...

Re: tapping 6 and 8mm threads in wood
Thanks both. Since the original post, I've thought of several other things I could better do by thread tapping, so I've ordered a pukka full set from amazon.es. Eagerly awaiting my new toy.

tapping 6 and 8mm threads in wood
My metric tap and die set which I bought in Spain 15 years ago, and which I have not used for about 12 years, has gone AWOL. I now need to tap some 6mm and some 8mm threads in hardwood, and I am unlikely to need a full set ever again. Anybody know if it is possible to just buy for those two sizes, o...

Re: Masks to be mandatory from next week in Andalucia
I gather that masks must be worn when walking on a beach, but not when swimming. You are on a beach, 20 m from the water line and want to go for a swim, so you put on your mask and walk to the sea. What do you do with your mask when you go in the water ?

1966 WC Final
Had a hugely enjoyable Saturday night watching the '66 England - W. Germany final, original black and white footage and commentary. It must be 50 years since I last watched that game, and I expected to find noticeable differences from the modern game in tactics, technique, fitness etc. It was a very...

Re: UK State Pension
Peter..o..r…, I know comparisons are difficult, I've been doing this sort of thing most of my working life, but I know the date when each instruction would have been given, and even using a 3 day window either side, the PS exchange rate was inferior to that of Visa Europe across all six transaction....

UK State Pension
Just a point of interest, something I have discovered this morning - I promise I'm not really a saddo, just becoming rather bored and stir crazy. Some years ago, my wife and I both changed how we received our State Pension and had it paid in euros direct into our Spanish current account. This becaus...

One in a car ???
Can anyone give a definitive answer on the emergency regs and number of bodies allowed in a vehicle ?
Is it actually just one, or is that just the opinion of the weird bloke down the pub ?

Re: iOS Android version
Thanks again all. Followed your directions Enrique, and I am it appears a 9.0 which seems to be more than adequate to avoid the chop. Yes, Gerry, I can now forget about finding a replacement for WhatsApp, or a replacement phone.

Re: iOS Android version
Thanks folks. The penny is beginning to drop - I have misunderstood, but claim this is due to terrible grammar and punctuation skills of the journalists writing the articles I read. It is not the iOS (whatever that may be) I need to know, but the Android equivalent which I assume will be called some...

iOS Android version
Can anyone tell a tech luddite how to find out what iOS version my Samsung phone uses. I have looked at several websites telling me how to find the answer in "settings" but the results are nothing like the instructions say they will be.

Every country has some stupid laws, and Spain is certainly no exception, but if the above is true it is the most idiotic I've ever heard. "S*** for Brains Award of the Century" to the clowns who dreamed that one up.

Thanks for everyone's comments. Unfortunately I didn't keep the receipt ( which makes me cannon fodder for my wife ! ) so I'll just have to wing it.

Taking cigars to the UK
Having a trip northwards later this month, partly for an old pal's 70th birthday bash. I've bought some of his favourite cigars to take (a third of the cost in the UK !!), from an Estanco so they are legit, tax/duty paid etc, but I cannot see any indications on the packaging to confirm this. It's ma...

PP, that's not something I have ever needed to do with the Clarity card so I've no experience to call on, but I think it would be unlikely. As with some other card providers, the T & Cs specifically state that you cannot load the card up into credit, that any funds received in that way will be r...
