Re: Covid Vaccinations Spain
it's becoming more and more difficult to keep up on which age groups can have AZ, so i take it that it's now just available to those between the ages of 60 and 65? What about all those outside of this age group who have already had one shot, the mind boggles. That's what they are saying at the mome...

Re: Covid Vaccinations Spain
I've been for my first jab this morning (AZ) at the mass vaccination centre set up in a large marquee at the Vélez-Málaga feria ground (I think it's serving quite a wide area, have heard that people living in Nerja and in inland villages have their appointments there). My appointment was for 11.02 a...

Re: Masks on the beach
I agree. In addition to the things already mentioned, the schools have of course stayed open throughout since last September, which is very beneficial for the children, I think, and I've been able to go swimming at the municipal indoor pool apart from the few weekas after Christmas when the restrict...

Re: UK and Spain income tax situation after Brexit
I know that UK and Spain have a bilateral tax agreement not connected to EU so Brexit should make no difference but talking to some friends this morning over coffee (lots of different opinions lol), the consensus of opinion was that HMRC would not be liaising with the Hacienda after 1st June 2021. ...

Re: Covid Vaccinations Spain
Yes, I think that's right, Gerry. The over 70s go to the local health centre and get the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, and the 55-64 age group go to the mass vaccination point and get the AstraZeneca vaccine. I had read that Andalucia was going to start vaccinating the 55-64 year olds from 15 April, so...

Re: Covid Vaccinations Spain
I've just had my call this morning (surprised me because I didn't think they'd be working on Jueves Santo) to go for my first vaccination next week, at the mass vaccination point on the feria ground in Vélez. I'm 64. No date for the second injection was mentioned, hopefully I'll be told that when I ...

IMG-20210330-WA0007-1.jpg I am not sure if this is fake so if anyone does contact this number be careful with details. If you do contact them let us know if it was successful especially if you are not registered on the health service. It does seem to be a genuine iniative, and there is advice in th...

Re: Travel Covid requirements
I went to Amsterdam for a few days last August (booked quite close to date of departure). At the time there were no rules in place prohibiting travel between the two countries and case numbers were pretty low in both the area I was travelling from and where I was travelling to. No tests were require...

Re: Covid Vaccinations Spain
In Sevilla over 80 yr olds have been waiting over an hour in the sun, but at least things are moving. Not ideal, but no worse than having to wait an hour and 25 minutes (or much longer in some cases) in the rain and snow. https://metro.co.uk/2021/01/04/pensioners-queue-outside-in-freezing-cold-to-g...

Re: Covid Vaccinations Spain
A mass vaccination centre has started operating today at the Vélez-Málaga feria ground, next to the El Ingenio shopping centre . When we passed yesterday there were people working there getting things ready, but I assumed it wouldn't start until after Semana Santa. However, when I passed at 9.15 thi...

Re: Vaccine war with EU
Should be used to cherry picking by now. Like the hospitals, all the world has massive waiting lists and patients going untreated except one in Spain. Ha ha. How is it one, Katy? elusive told of her friend's experience of having breast cancer diagnosed and treated promptly during the pandemic in An...

Re: Vaccine war with EU
And they are all in the EU except Iceland :shifty: It must have passed me by that Thailand, Indonesia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are all in the EU - they kept that quiet! All have suspended use of the Astra Zeneca vaccine temporarily, although in the case of Thailand it was only for a...

He has prescribed me a new medication and also ordered two types of scan, one at the radiology clinic near the hospital and the other at the Hospital Regional (Carlos Haya) in Málaga, and when they have the results of those I will be sent another appointment to see the cardiologist again. Don't kno...

Re: Get your food from the UK soon.
Katy, pigeon breast meat is nice but very tiny. I like game and have bought partridge breast from Lidl at Christmas. A shame you can't get venison here, although perhaps in the north it may be available? I lived in foie gras country in France, so there was a lot of duck on the menu, together with p...

Re: Get your food from the UK soon.
Re Gibraltar I am open to correction here but as I understand the new deal (that is half agreed) means/ will mean Gibraltar is in Schengen. There will be no border checks between Spain and Gibraltar. So just the same as you can bring a ham sandwich from Portugal to Spain you can bring one from Gibr...

Re: Get your food from the UK soon.
Why do people have to have a go at those living abroad who want a few items of food from their home country? There are plenty of others who enjoy living in Spain but still find some parts of their new life extremely difficult at times so for them having access to things like British TV and food fro...
