Doorstepping

Anyone else being harassed by endesa to change their contracts? I am getting at least one visit a day and it's driving me nuts. Any advice how to stop it would be welcome.

Re: Shop Locations

Do you mean Tivoli World in Arroyo de la Miel, when you say you are staying in the Tivoli area? If so the easiest way to get to Plaza Mayor is by train, the station is very close to Tivoli. You need the stop before the airport. The other mall you mentioned could be the Miramar Centre, which is locat...

This is known in the aviation industry as "leave your brains at home" syndrome! Smoking has never been allowed on apron areas for the very obvious danger it presents with fuel tugs on stands etc. It is ironic that you are more likely to be killed by an idiot than a terrorist when flying. My ghast is...

Well, I work at Gatwick. Yesterday I set off for work half an hour earlier than usual to take into account expected traffic delays as my normal route takes me close to the drop off points of both Terminals. Sailed in quicker than usual! Today left at the usual time, no particular problems getting in.

Concreteman! Love the logic, so that's where the spanish guys get their macho outlook from - palm domination.

Anyway, whether tied up or not, I bet they look better than the plastic palm trees some bright spark thought would look good in Brighton Marina!

Citymike, I heard that too, and the bags have to be biodegradeable so they can buried in landfill along with all those disposable nappies.

Questions for the decorators

Hi you knowledgeable people! Can you tell me ..... What is the Spanish equivalent to emulsion paint? Walls are slightly stippled, whats the best method of application (roller/brush?) My Dad has mentioned something about the old paint coming off when you repaint? This sounds a bit bizzare to me, anyo...

Thanks Safeas, I've seen some sewing machines in El Corte Ingles but they were pretty pricey. Have thought about bringing a cheapo with me, you can get some for about £50-£80 at Argos, but don't want to be lugging it around really, they start off light but get heavier. Funnily enough, I don't recall...

Those ads are on display at Gatwick too. The funny thing is the spelling of Andalucia is contradictory. One part of the poster spells it Andalucia, the other part spells it Andalusia. Now I'm confused which is correct - it should be spelt Andalucia shouldn't it? Is there a reason for the two differe...

Where can I buy a cheap sewing machine?

Hi everybody, you are a knowledgeable lot, so I think you'll know the answer to this one. I'm coming over to Arroyo on the 30th April for almost 4 weeks. I have got a lot on my agenda, I'll be decorating a couple of bedrooms, and I want to make some curtains. I've got an all singing/dancing machine ...

Going back to the Sevillanas, I would really like to find a book which gave the music and words to these street songs. By marrying up some of my interests (folk music and learning spanish) I was hoping to find another way to increase my knowledge of the language. Anyone out there able to point me i...

The Gun, Fuengirola

On my last flying visit to Arroyo, I saw in the Town Crier that The Gun Bar was having a benefit night to raise funds for (and I'm not exactly certain that I can be specific here) something to do with Cystic Fibrosis. The article mentioned that there was a CF centre in Malaga. As my son (22 years ol...

I have a couple of books that are great for learning about verbs. 1. Spanish Verbs by María Rosario Hollis ISBN 0-340-86719-1 - This is a verb reference book a bit like a dictionary for verbs listing all the different tenses. 2. Spanish Verb Tenses by Dorothy Devney Richmond ISBN 0-8442-7334-1 - Thi...
