Re: Brexit and Travel

I thought of that but they only way I will overstay my absence from Spain is if the Covid restrictions dictate that and I have no alternative.

Brexit and Travel

On Friday I did my first post-Brexit trip to the UK from Spain. At the Spanish passport control in Madrid and before getting to my Gate to fly to the UK, I had to show my Passport AND my TIE. My passport was stamped with the date. My TIE was scanned. I'll report back as to what happens when I travel...

Re: Travel Covid requirements

Agreed. Covid and Brexit have come at the same time but are NOT the same. I'm about to start a new thread re: Brexit and travel.

Re: Out on UK passport back on Irish to Northern Ireland

So many worries, Pamela. I don't know which is worse; being in Devon with my parents and worrying abut my OH here or being with my OH here and worrying about my parents in Devon ...

Re: Travel Covid requirements

Apparently there is one in T4 but I won't do that now. I have my Negative Covid Test (it arrived an hour ago) and that will do fine.

Re: Travel Covid requirements

This is beginning to stress me out. I'm waiting for my Covid test results. The test was picked up yesterday at 11.25 and the results are ready within 24-36 hours. Once I have the results I can fill in my Locator form and upload a load of stuff to Iberia who won't let me check-in until 24 hours befor...

Re: Out on UK passport back on Irish to Northern Ireland

You have my support entirely, fyfin, and I hope your trip goes well. I agree completely with Mark (for a change). I fly out to Heathrow on Friday having done all the Covid stuff and I, too, have no return booked. However, I do have the TIE and international Driving Permit because of Brexit. If you r...

Re: Travel Covid requirements

I think it is hugely unfair to chop and change this green, amber, red scale at just a few hours notice. Some proper warning needs to be given. What is happening now seems as if the U.K. government is waging psychological warfare on its own citizens. As for Spain not being on the green list, that see...

I thought I would do the antigen test at T4 Madrid, as well. Good luck with your trip.

Re: Travel Covid requirements

After four EasyJet, Madrid-Bristol, cancellations, I have a flight with Iberia, Madrid-Heathrow, on 11th June. I think it is too late for them to cancel now so I will be flying to the UK. As an unvaccinated person I looked for the PCR test and stressed about getting to a local testing centre, having...

Re: Yellow Shrubs in Alginarejo A4154

Yellow flowering shrubs that are drought tolerant and grow in poor soil can be any one of the broom genus: Cytisus (Broom) or Genista (Whin) and are common and so is the deliciously fragrant Retama Sphaerocarpa (Retama) but could also be the lower growing Halimium Commutatum (Rockrose) although they...

Re: Pen Knife / Folding Blade

I am in a walking group and everyone, including me, has a pocket knife in their rucksack for pealing apples and oranges and cutting bananas in half to share, cut rope, whittle sticks, etc. Mine is 9cm long with a metal collar with a slit in the side that twists around to keep the knife locked shut, ...

Re: Portugal

Thanks for the moral support Pamela and Katy. I know I am not alone but it's really frustrating and I wonder when the new 'normal' will arrive or whether this is it. My OH asked if I would be better off driving but there are no ferries (yet) and the other way I would have to cross France. Not a good...

Re: The right to vote in the UK after 15 years

I think this is a situation where, if British people living abroad people want to, they will be able to vote in the UK. It's a choice. Why is anyone putting a case for people not having a choice? People can make up their own mind based on their own situation and own judgments about whether it is 'ri...
