Andalucia goes PP
Maybe it's not really a surprise to wake up this morning to Andalucia now having a majority PP government. Maybe the Socialists have been a bit too interested in their own petty squabbles and corruption projects — as have the PP, of course. Maybe people are fed-up. Maybe the PP will not do much bett...

Re: Covid Diary
Third week? Poor things. Sounds like their immune systems are not doing their thing properly.

Re: campo living - water pumps - how often should it run ?
No, the pump is not burning out any faster because the problem is only intermittent and not for long. I suspect the water loss is minimal but it comes from a 150m deep borehole that, so far, in 15 years, whatever the drought conditions are, gives us water. Obviously, if it was a continuous problem w...

Re: campo living - water pumps - how often should it run ?
We have had the same problem on-and-off for about the last five years. We can't find a leak so we have given up worrying about it.

Re: Covid Diary
Today was my first full day of socialising. All went well. However, I was asked if I would now get vaccinated seeing as I 'got' Covid and was, clearly, vulnerable. I was reminded that my antibodies might only last a year and I would need the vaccine to get better protection for the future. Parallel ...

Re: Covid Diary
I tested negative yesterday so the whole thing has lasted eight days. I feel back to normal and the thing has gone as fast as it arrived.

Re: Covid Diary
Sore throat has gone and I have no fever and the tiredness is more manageable. Yesterday was a good day with washing and gardening done in the afternoon. The only thing is that I feel a bit dizzy if I get up too quickly and that is not a nice feeling. Still, so far, it seems to be all right but I ha...

Re: Uk Airport Chaos
I am supposed to be going to the UK in July but, quite honestly, I might give the Summer months a miss and go later in the year when the schools are back and there are fewer holiday people in general. The friend I went to Barcelona with last week went on the see a friend in Alicante and flew back to...

Re: Covid Diary
Thank you, yes, I think I am on the mend but it has only been four days yet I feel better. My OH got some medicines from the pharmacy yesterday as we had nothing in the medicine box at home. Neither of us actually take medicines for anything, other than prescribed things, as we prefer to let Nature ...

Covid Diary
Last Thursday I got on a bus in Madrid to travel back to Extremadura after having spent a few days away. The bus was full. Not one single seat was free. All the people seemed to know each other, were loud and had shouted conversations and they coughed, spluttered and sneezed the entire journey while...

Re: Does anyone living here full time rely on solar power?
That sounds really good. Technology, especially in renewable energy, is developing at a huge rate — only kept down by vested interests, i.e. power companies and government officials with links to them.

Re: Capote — Celtic Hilltop Village
How disappointing. When I visited, the Interpretation Centre was undergoing refurbishment. The man there did say the place would be closed over the usual lunch hours but if we got back from our visit before he was back we should just go over the wall to the left of the (locked) gate, coming from the...

Agreed, Cádiz. Security is not the place for family discussions on who has the laptop!
