Re: what plans do you have for xmas?

Its my 2nd Christmas here, we were going to do something nice last year, but my mother in law sadly died 4 days before Christmas, and my husband was with her in UK so at the time thought I would be on my own for my first christmas. But he came home to Spain on Christmas Eve and we had a very quiet, ...

Re: watching football

Whilst in UK last week, we watched the Hull v Chelsea game online and I believe the website was justin.tv or something like that, I will ask my Uncle who found it to confirm and let you know. It was a english website, but was a link to a spanish channel it seems?

Re: Security warning for apartments

We did the same as Costakid last week. My keys were on the inside, we were on the outside with my husbands set of keys, but they didnt work due to the presence of mine still in the lock! Fortunately, we own another property in the block, so we went to wait there until the president came home with th...

Cornflour

Hi I need some cornflour, so can someone tell me what the name is in Spanish and is a 'raising agent' the same thing? Sorry to be thick about it, but on the side of the packet, it says ' can be used as an alternative to cornflour' Is this the case in all situations? I recently bought one of those ol...

Does anyone know if there will be another home/garden exhibition in Malaga? I seem to think I read about one a previous year on a.com.... I couldnt go to the last one, as I was in UK, and I mentioned to my friend a few weeks about it, and she said if I heard when it was on, we should go and have a l...

Re: Handmade Cards

You're right of course Katy, but at the time, I thought it would be something to do. I am relieved I left my stuff in UK, the only problem is that my sister in law who 'inherited' the card stuff lets my nieces make our cards from them, plus bits she has added to the collection herself...they are aged...

Re: holiday home - car hire or car purchase?

i´d say buy an old banger for 500€ or so and leave it at your house over here. if it gets damaged or anything it wont matter. We bought an old banger here before we lived here permanently and it was a waste of time, as everytime it had been left for any period, the battery needed re-charging. We tr...

My 'not-in-season' clothes are kept vacuum packed and put in the storage area under our bed.. Must admit, I like getting out the seasons clothes again and remembering what I have!
I dont have vast amounts of clothes, but I do like the not-in-use ones to be out of sight!

I have a Samsung u600 and it has a 'sunlight mode' which apparently makes the screen easier to read when in direct sunlight. It doesnt really work to be honest! Slight improvement, but the screen is so reflective that everything around you is visible in the screen. I wouldnt recommend one for this a...

We're also due a reasonable sized rebate, and we were told not to get too exctied, as they have up to a year to transfer the funds into our account. There is no sign of it so far!

Hi Disco... I just spent 4 weeks in Oz ( got back about 10 days ago) and I too couldnt wait to get back home to Spain, so you must be desperate after a year!! We found the day to day living very expensive and quite over-rated at times, although there are some gorgeous parts, most of it wasnt what I ...

Hi, only just back from our holiday, so only just working through new posts! Glad you liked the restaurant. REALLY looking forward to it now, as we tried a couple of Thai restaurants whilst on holiday in Australia and Singapore. I cant believe I had to wait until nearly 40 to taste something as divi...
