Re: Travel Covid requirements
An interesting account of a family travelling back to the UK for a short break: https://english.elpais.com/trans_iberian/2021-04-09/i-just-took-a-two-week-trip-from-spain-to-the-uk-with-my-family-heres-what-it-was-like-and-what-it-cost.html Certainly looks like a logistical nightmare of tests, expen...

Re: Travel from Spain by Car via France via Channel Tunnel
A friend did the journey last month and wasn't stopped at all in Spain, but was stopped at the French border and fined for not having his PCR test, then stopped by a police car and searched near to Pau. He almost picked up some unwanted hitchhikers (no fewer than 5!) in Calais near the tunnel, but h...

Re: Car Finance V Lump Sum
We bought a new car 2 years ago but paid cash and did not get any offers. Is it just when you take their finance they do that? In the UK many years back we bought a car on 0% finance but here at Suzuki, they did not push the finance + reduced price offer at all. We had looked at Peugeot and Seat and...

Re: Travel Covid requirements
I don't know how they have survived Pamela. The cruise company that I and many friends have used went bust last summer, a week after I had booked a cruise for this year. It couldn't have gone ahead anyway as I probably couldn't have got to the UK easily in June, it probably couldn't have gone to the...

Re: CARREFOUR BOUGHT SUPERSOL
I think they do Lyric. It's a much bigger store than Eroski in Velez. We go 2 or 3 times as year. They do some different things we like to get from there (and they do stock a few things we recognise from when we lived in France too Screagle). In December they have some good deals on wine. We used to...

I'm not aware that you have to pay for a text in the UK, I just returned from the US and I have to take a text but no charges and I equally have travelled to Spain in March and on my returned to the UK I have to take the text but no charges for the services. :?: :?: Do you mean test rather than tex...

The jelly stuff looks interesting as we have problems with dust. I notice it says to put into the basket of the pump but as we only have a small above ground pool of about 13m3 we only have one of these type of combined filter/pumps https://www.manomano.es/p/sistema-de-filtracion-de-arena-400-w-1019...

My optician used to tell me that wearing my contact lenses would help to keep the allergens out of my eyes. I usually only wear them when I go out but when I've chopped onions with them in my eyes don't water at all, so it must keep something out.

Re: Travel Covid requirements
Neighbours have just had to go back to the UK and were charged 110€ each for their tests by a clinic in Nerja, then then there's the two each they have to have whilst isolating, then another to come back home. It's not something most people would want to pay out for if it was just for a holiday.

I'll give it a go as I don't drink alcohol every night and get bored with soft drinks and like a tonic, even without the gin!

Re: IF YOU ARE PROLIFIC CRIMINAL WHY HAVE A TATTOO?
Mine is on my shoulder at the very top of my arm, an area I hope won't sag like the rest of me  so it's quite visible. I think they've became more acceptable in recent years, but not sure if it was a mid-life thing or not. I care less about what people think and had it done because I wanted to....

The rose one will be interesting when she gets old and saggy
Trouble is the colours do fade and dark ones can end up looking like a bruise. I'm thinking of getting mine touched up as the yellow has faded and it doesn't look as vibrant as it once did.

Re: IF YOU ARE PROLIFIC CRIMINAL WHY HAVE A TATTOO?
I was over 50 when I had it done and it wasn't spur of the moment. It's young people that have ones that are very visible (on hands and necks) that may well be regretting them in later years. You do see some awful ones on the TV programmes. My tattooist was a good artist and she did it from a photo ...

Wicksey i have a little tattoo also, i wonder if that makes me a sociopath...along with everyone i know who has one and there isn't many people i know who doesn't.   I never used to like tattoos but in recent years they have become so commonplace and much prettier, that I really fan...

Re: IF YOU ARE PROLIFIC CRIMINAL WHY HAVE A TATTOO?
Criminals have tattoos just like the rest of young people because they are now trendy. Perhaps they didn’t know they would become criminals at the time. Footballers, media stars have them too. What relevance does it have to the law in Spain? I was wondering that myself ! yeah, me too. Having ...

Re: TREADING CAREFULLY MIXERS
I've just munched my way through the head of a dark chocolate Easter bunny from Lidl .... I enjoyed it! The Spanish stores are much smaller than the ones we've been in in the UK so the choice is less, but I can still do a week's shopping in there. Last month they had boxes of 6 English real ales so ...
