Re: UK Passport Renewal

The passport office used to be really fussy with photos when you had to send them in. A question, how to get the photo verified if you took it yourself. Thought you had to get someone to write the statement on the back. No-one else has to verify the photo. Perhaps they compare it to the previous on...

Re: UK Passport Renewal

My photo had shadows but I used the editing program on the phone to even out the brightness and it was accepted ok. The photo I took of my OH was accepted straight away. Our walls are cream and I was more careful of him not being sideways on to a window. I would give it a go as it's easy to do and t...

Re: No tourists until after summer

You can move seats if there's plenty of empty ones. You may find others come and sit by you if there are a lot of unoccupied ones! We have moved to an empty row once the doors have shut so we get the three seats to ourselves, and people are often swopping places on our Vueling flights.

Re: No tourists until after summer

Not everyone pays for seats and books them in advance I don't think. Is it still the case that you can opt out of paying for a seat and just get a random one given to you when you check in online? Certainly the Vueling website makes it look like it's half empty when we book our seats but they are ne...

Re: Extortionate car hire prices

I noticed last May how much the prices had risen in the UK as we were due to go back then (not peak time/school holidays). I never got around to booking anything in the end as the trip was cancelled, but I could find little below 250 pounds for a week's hire from Stansted. Previously I had paid les...

Re: Destruction of pump house by fire - faulty pump??

I imagine that Liberty will send out an assessor, as they always have with us in the past. Presumably he will reach his own conclusion as to the cause of the fire and whether they will cover it or not.

From the gov.uk site: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-spain If you did not register with DGT before 30 December 2020 If you did not register with DGT before 30 December 2020 and wish to exchange your UK driving licence, you should follow the DGT process for non-EU nationals. This includes taki...

Re: Exchanging a UK driving license

Did you register with Trafico that you wanted to exchange your licence prior to 31/12/21? I think they have extended the time to finish the application until the end of this year if so. If you didn't start the process last year then you will be looking at taking a Spanish driving test. Appointments ...

Daisymay, the certificate from the town hall lasts for 3 months. When we've got ours it says 'volante' at the top, shows the details they hold and is stamped by them.

Re: New printer needed

I think I've got some research to do. What I don't want is one that needs loads of colour cartridges in order to work. MY HP flashes to say the colour one is missing but still works. They are fairly cheap to buy still, just don't want to spend the rest of the year setting it up

Re: EU Covid Passport

I think you can download it via Clicsalud. I was checking some results on there today and noticed that they now have a Covid certificate area. As I haven't had any jabs then I couldn't see what showed up. It seems to have been updated recently to show more info. Under the Salud heading on the left i...

New printer needed

Urghh .... my HP printer has stopped functioning partly due to the fact it needs Adobe to scan and that's no longer in use. The copier stopped working some time ago and now the printer is on a go-slow. It prints one line every 30 seconds  I have quite an old PC (with Win 7) that it's connected...

It's a certificate to show you're on the padron. Thankfully free here and we've needed quite a few in the past couple of years!

My friends had tempo happy and seem to think they have now changed to the new tariff and times. I guess it will be clearer when the first bills at the end of June come out.

Re: Covid Vaccinations Spain

I think Nerja must be Pfizer and perhaps the hospital is just Janssen. When the appointment was made for us at the Velez hospital tent it definitely said Janssen on the details, but when you make the appointment yourself it doesn't seem to say what you're getting.

Have you tried the Clicsalud site elusive. You don't need a digital cert to access the appointments and I find it better than the Saludresponde app.

Re: Covid Vaccinations Spain

Personally I don't fancy being a guinea pig full stop. My OH has been under the weather for the past couple of weeks so has now decided he is not keen to have anything for the time being. At the rate we're going, they'll be starting booster jabs in the autumn or winter so we may as well wait and see...
