Re: 90 in 180 days

I guess there's not been many people coming here from the UK so far, and for much of the time it's been residents only. Very few flights at the moment so perhaps they haven't worked out what to do with non resident Brits yet!

Re: No tourists until after summer

At the moment the restriction on non-residents coming here is until 31 May. If you have have residencia you can come in. Not sure when the ban on leaving the UK finishes .... is it still 17 May?

Re: 90 in 180 days

Still looks like a bit of a queue to get out of Gib
https://www.frontierqueue.gi/

I would imagine that they still want to make some sort of check as it was always a big smuggling entry point into Spain.

Re: 90 in 180 days

Interesting point raised by a friend in Spain. He goes to Gibraltar once or twice a year. If on his return into Spain his British passport is stamped and the next time he goes to Gibraltar is six months later will he get pulled up under this? Isn't the border now open under a Schengen type of agree...

Re: Equivalent Stores in Spain

We use Dunnes for bedlinen and duvets etc as they have English style and sizes. We also buy towels there and they do have a small collection of household items. Some of the very big Chinese bazaars stock better quality things. We've bought glassware that has been made in France and some curtains as ...

 a pension of 50k  .... I wish. Unlikely to pay tax here for a while thanks to the civil service pension 'exemption'. The state pension will be the thing that makes a difference to us although, even then, we shan't get the full amount as we didn't work long enough. There are advantages to ...

Re: Renta 2020

Strangely, last year my OH, with state and Crown pensions was assessed at zero, and me, with state and a small personal pension at a few cents. This year she has to pay 19 Euros and I am zero. So much for the ridiculous post on here about people paying 20% tax on pensions! There is a tax free allow...

Re: Leroy Merlin

Friends bought a wooden pergola from Leroy Merlin at the end of last summer season. I think it had come from another branch as it was end of season stock. It was delivered OK but they didn't want to put it up immediately due to the strong winter storms we get here. So come this spring they start to ...

Re: Writing English Will in Spain

For the Spanish will we used the notary on Torrox Costa next to the Repsol petrol station: Notaría Juan Luis Gómez Ávila, Calle Almería, 1, km.282, 29793 Torrox Costa It was a few years back but he spoke perfect English, he did the will both in Spanish and English, and the cost was about 38€ each. Y...

Re: New CaixaBank fees ... time to change banks?

You have to have your pension paid in directly I think to qualify but I am not yet on state pension. I pay in a certain amount each month but that is from my UK account via Wise. I don't get any other charges for anything, it is just a flat quarterly fee. I think I posted somewhere else the link to ...

Re: Vaccine war with EU

There is no way I would take a vaccine from Russia, the same country with a state doping programme for athletes. The Russian public themselves won't even take it! So I think Russia has an impossible task to convince other countries to take it on mass. After Salisbury I don't think anyone should giv...

Re: New CaixaBank fees ... time to change banks?

Sabadell charge us 15€ per quarter as we do not qualify for their free bank accounts for one reason or another. I am not leaving the country for the sake of 60€pa charges! Living in the UK would be impossible for us on our income as our campo house has such low outgoings, and it's not something we w...

Came up as 'leg' in Galician ....

Much the same here Olive in the campo. Mass gatherings and generations of the families have always come up here during Covid. There's been a few parties down the hill from us with about 8 cars outside, but perhaps it's on a smaller scale here.

Re: Building options

I've only had experience of the many campo houses built around us in the early 2000s and I only saw one with any sort of foundations. I think some were built by people in the village who were definitely not builders and they basically made it up as they went along. Some were 3 storeys high and I am ...

They're still offering the AZ to people in the their 60s here. A friend was rung today with his appointment and when he said he didn't want AZ they said they'd give him the Pfizer instead.

That's quick PoR, is it quieter there for Brits to get it? Friends have had to book for Malaga next month as there's nothing at all available at Velez Malaga. Re: Travel Covid requirements

I just don't think you can plan anything nowadays. Even if Spain is put onto the Green list there's still a test before travelling and one when you get there, plus the one to have before returning home to Spain. Then of course the UK can change their minds at the last minute and you end up there in ...
