Re: Dealing with owners who break the rules?

There's been a mixed reaction qe2ex from a few and no reaction from the rest. As President I felt I had to try to uphold the House Rules but I feel that this is the beginning of the end for our little building which is quite unique in the area from an architectural point of view. Disappointing that ...

Re: Dealing with owners who break the rules?

I expect so Costakid. One of the owners involved has responded by threatening to sue everyone left, right and centre. Apparently we can't do anything more until the situation changes and we are able to hold a meeting of owners.

Thanks Sid

Me too - but we couldn't allow it to happen without some reaction from the community.

Re: Dealing with owners who break the rules?

Thanks fincalospinos

I've just got word that the Administrator has written to the owners. Just waiting now to see what their reaction is.

Re: Dealing with owners who break the rules?

Thanks Manchesteral.

I've looked into that but apparently you need to present yourself at the nearest police station within 48 hrs to sign the form and as all travel to Spain by non residents is prohibited that makes it a bit difficult.

Dealing with owners who break the rules?

Two new Spanish owners of apartments in our small building of 19 apartments have recently erected pergolas on their terraces. They gave no prior notification to anyone in the community or to the Administrator about this which I believe is a requirement set out in the Horizontal Property Law. It is a...

SlingBox to be discontinued

With the announcement that Slingbox is to be discontinued in 2022 I would be interested in hearing from other users who use this technology to watch UK Television what their intentions are. I've been Googling for alternatives but so far have not been able to come up with anything that would be a goo...

Re: Comments and queries re FAQ for Non-resident income tax

Many Thanks Beachcomber. I suppose I could fill out the form and choose to pay directly from my bank account in Spain (I usually pay in cash) and ask our Administrator to take the form to the bank for me if I emailed it to them. Is there any reason why that would not work (as long as the Administrat...

Re: Comments and queries re FAQ for Non-resident income tax

Apologies if this question has been answered before but I have searched through this topic and not been able to find an answer. What is the worst that can happen if I don't pay my non-residents tax on time this year? I've paid it faithfully for each of the previous 12 years but I don't expect to be ...

Re: Holding an AGM via Zoom?

Many Thanks for all your comments. Like Enrique I think that it is just a cop out by our Administrators. We are a small community of 18 owners from several nationalities and normally we only have a few who attend the AGMs. I would have thought that Zoom would be the perfect answer given the current ...

Holding an AGM via Zoom?

Our Community AGM has been postponed because of the Coronavirus situation. I've suggested to our Administrator that perhaps it could be held using Zoom. They have replied saying that it would not be possible as people have to attend in person and that the law would have to be changed or a royal gove...

Electricity meter readings

I've been trying to understand my electricity bill a bit better and I see that there are two readings taken into account. One is called "Punta" and the other is called "Valle". Can anyone explain what these represent?

Many Thanks

Professional Organisations in Spain

A couple of apartments in our block are suffering from water ingress when there is heavy rain. All the efforts by the local builder engaged by our Administrator have failed to solve the problem. Does anyone know of any professional organisations in Spain that would have experts who would be able to ...

Question about unpaid Community Fees

I know that if an owner has not paid their Community Fees that although they can attend meetings they cannot vote.

Is it possible for them to hold an office such as Vice President if they have not paid?

Re: Changing ISP?

Many Thanks Manchesteral We have several networks connected to our building including Movistar and Orange. We have had a similar experience with Movistar but they keep increasing the price (twice in the past 10 months!). What I am interested in is the process of changing between one and the other. S...
