Re: Responsibility for a track

After doing annual battle with an ayuntamiento for 3 years over an unmade camino rural I gave up. At first they humoured me (we actually exchanged several emails and I got to see a real person...once), said they had no money but would be happy to grant me a licence to carry out repairs (at my own co...

Re: Help! DVD burning problem...

Unfortunately, neither my DVD player nor the TV has a USB port...so that option's out! I tried again using the ConvertXtoDVD programme - same outcome, file converted just fine but the DVD-R disc just seems to be invisible...in a sexy French accent, it kept telling me to insert zee media source ;o) A...

AFAIK I've already successfuly converted the avi file to a form that should be able to be burnt onto disc...but I'm willing to try...

The DVD player is a just couple of months old but doesn't have DIVX on the front. Have tried with 3 different, all brand new discs (purchased today)...same outcome every time!

LOL Well, burger buns are, er, burger-shaped and hot dog rolls are shaped to fit something resembling a sausage...so if a BBQ is involved it's simply easier to use/bring your own burger- or sausage-shaped veggie alternative  As for the mince or chunk type products - I guess they're simply manu...

Oh yes, mange tout...why oh why can't you get them here?! Re: Non-flammable board

Pladur FOC is a plasterboard with additional fibreglass to increase its fire resistance. It's a pink colour on one side. You'll probably have to buy a whole sheet of it - Leroy Merlin aand anywhere that sells plasterboard should keep it in stock.

Yes, the sand layer was most likely was used as a cheap form of acoustic insulation for the floor.

The "tile blocks" you refer to are known as bardos, bovedillas or rasillones...depending on the type, manufacturer and your area!

Re: How To Spot Load Bearing Wall

If the wall in question runs parallel to the floor (or roof/ceiling beams if single storey) beams above (you may have to expose them from below or above to check) then it is most likely not load-bearing. Beams usually span the smallest dimension of the room btw... If in doubt...don't do it
