Re: 50% off local holidays

Heard about this scheme and looks interesting.
Problem I think is finding out who the registered travel agents are?

I'm sure you are both aware that if you wait until you are 65 or older, then the premium will be considerably higher than if you take out a policy before you are 65. The policy usually just increases yearly with inflation. Pre existing conditions are not normally covered. We are with Prevision Medic...

So, my newly acquired card is wrong.
Mine has got “family member of a Union citizen” at the bottom.
However, the expiry date is correct, 2030.

Just collected my TIE.
Contains all the correct information.
Got there early, hardly anybody there waiting.
Straight in and out with my TIE before my appointment time had arrived.

Be aware that when you print out the modela 790 payment form you get 2 copies. They look the same except for the printing on the bottom right hand corner. One of them you present with the application and the other one you keep for your own records. They will only accept the copy printed for themselv...

As I said previously a quick wipe over with some WD40 on a cloth clears the haze and back to being nice and clear.
Very quick to do and very little effort.
Just needs a quick wipe every few weeks.

Re: Almond and Carob harvesting questions

Carobs have been/ are being harvested around here.
When they are brown and start falling off or blown off in the wind, they are hit off with long bamboo canes.
There is somebody outside doing it at the moment.

Oh I see now .... not much use to me then!
You could go online by using the restaurants WiFi connection.
But it is easier to use Lavanda's method, ask for a menu.
