Re: Local bank closing ... how do I?!

My understand is Government utilities can be paid at any bank anytime.
Other utilities are paid at bank chosen by provider of service.
My electric can be paid Tue/Thur at Santander Bank.
An added thought, could you set up direct debit with credit card.

Re: Local bank closing ... how do I?!

From my experience all Government bill and as far as i know the bills you mention fall into this area. These can be paid at any bank anywhere. However private utility such as Electrics/Telephone have to be paid in agreed bank which is usually couple of hour slot 2 days a week. Lately i seen a scanne...

Re: Pavement / table tax for cafes

I see this tax as being reasonable considering these establishments are using public space to expand their overall area. I see loads of little kiosk type cafes with just a few tables inside and most of their customers sitting outside. Personally i am happy to have a beer and a tapa outside but for p...

Re: bike import

bassleft, I do not mind criticism as long as its meant as advise. I was of the opinion the yellow plates were for all older motos, a friend said that they are for all rustic motos under 50cc. In will likely end up buying something out of a shed as you said if that's what comes my way, as long as its...

Re: Jump leads/ booster cable.

I do not think this will work as cable be seen as dangerous like rope.
I have a collection of items that i need to put in a hold bag and will do some day.
ie Bottle 55%, Big hunting knife, kindof axe.
Don't ask me why i buy these things. Silly???

Basically the car hire company has refused to refund on the basis that i made the decision without informing them, also the fact that tyres are not covered which someone earlier mentioned and i knew this already but i thought this may be for deliberate negligence and not a flat tyre which was deemed...

tyre

I had an incident with hire car two weeks ago and welcome opinion here. What happened was i got flat tyre on Saturday and if i am honest i was likely the cause as i was driving up to a castle on cobbles. Well the tyre was front so i had to take off front wheel and put the "Bicycle wheel" o...

Re: Weather

That was really why i asked as i have found from driving around there can be huge variation in temp. I often look at the temp the day before i travel and find a different temp than i expect on arrival. I do know there can be big variations between coast and inland but also think there may also be ot...
