Re: Pool pump sizing

Sound likes capacitor problem as TorreDelAguila mentioned above, when I came back to mi casa last January my pool pump stopped working, thinking of replacement but after checking it was the capacitor fault. I changed the capacitor, cost about €10, it works fine ever since. Worth looking at the capac...

Re: Pool pump sizing

I would look at the flow rate of the old pump for example if the flow rate is 15 cubic metres per hour etc. So to turn the whole pool volume of water once you will need the pump to run by 75÷15 hours which is 4 hours. If you have been running, say 2 hours per day with the pump flow rate of 15 cubic ...

Re: Bb4spain & iplayer

I am with them too and the situation is the same ie. Itv and all4 work fine but not iPlayer. Queried them and they said it's working fine from their end or I can always buy their TV services including one off box or monthly pay uk tv. It is obviously the BBC has blacklisted their UK ip address. What...

Re: Mature Fruit Trees

If you have access to plenty of water then I can't see why not!
You woud need to do a bit of research for the varieties of plants. We have over 10 citrus plants in the garden but 5 of them are bitter orange (very sour and bitter), 3 lemon trees and we plant a lime tree when we came.

Re: All year round covering pool

That seems quite a lot, I was thinking the region of €300 - €500 but I do appreciate it if the cover will last. I'll fill out the contact form to get a quote from them. Thank again El Cid.

Re: All year round covering pool

Thank El Cid. I notice that they're based in Maro. Did they make to measure the cover or your neighbour bought the cover off shelf? We will talk to them regarding the cover for our pool.

All year round covering pool

We have a type of cover which I think for summer to keep the heat in as the underlay has bubbles and it can be roll onto a spindle. This cover came with the house and cut into the shape of the pool of 4x7 metres with a semi circle steps at one end. The bubles are disintergrating shedding small piece...

Re: Summer ferry crossings from UK to northern Spain

We once did Santander-Torrox in about 10 hours. Disembarked at Santander about 9 in the morning and get to Torrox 7:45 in the evening. We stopped few times each time about 15 mins for fuels and food but that was the only time. The other time we either stayed near Burgos or Palencia then we only need...

We are with Competa and used direct debit and last year it was taken on the 12/8/2016. This year so far they haven't, I wondered the delay is from the bank or the ayuntamiento. Just talked to our neighbour and they have paid their but they had had to ask forit from the town hall.

Re: Help! Two ladies in distress.

Could be hard drive failure either in physical error or in boot loader error. Facing this problem I'd run a hard drive test if the drive fails then the laptop will need a new drive. If it doesn't then you 'd need to delete all partitions before reinstall windows. To reinstall windows you will need t...

Re: Problems With KODI

I used to have Javis on my firestick but noticed in early April that less and less HD streams arrived. After upgrading to Krypton the HD streams have come back more than before. There are reports that Jarvis and early Kodi didn't support SSL but since Krypton has most of the usual providers move to ...

Re: KODI

I upgraded my firestick from Javis 16.1 to Krypton 17.1 via downloader apps. All my addons previously on Javis still working after upgraded. I suggested you update your firestick first via firestick setting then search for downloader app. Open Downloader app after installing then download the krypto...

Re: Tools for hire near Torrox

Hi T C, Depending on your definition of "small trees".............why not use hand/pruning saw.......if he hasn't felled trees , plenty of videos on Youtube...........also safer if one hasn't had training with chainsaw....... These 2 small trees, a type of mimosa, are quite hard. D...

Re: Getting Iplayer etc onto an Amazon Fire stick

I suspect if you download and install the iplayer app in Spain you may need the UK ip address. A few weeks ago I looked in amazon.es and they don't sale TV firesticks possibly due to regional copyright issues. I bought the firestick when I was in the UK all the apps such as iplayer, All4 etc were ea...

Re: Driving from the UK to Andalucia

I did 4 return journeys with Brittany Ferry, Postmouth - Santander, during winter and early spring. A 4x4 and 2 people with a 4 berth cabin each way, average cost is £500 each return (Spain home owner club price, you pay £120/year membership to enjoy the tickets reduced 1/3). We did drive through Fr...
