Re: Unemployment

Been through the SEPE website and found the info on the courses but even using google there doesn't seem to be any reference to the situation regarding being paid for anything such as travel so it looks like were going to pay for getting to and from the course , only about €30 a week but would have ...

Re: Inheritance tax allowance increase in 2018

Your correct , i was wrong on the date of the increase to €250k , after July 2015 i stopped my research and made my decision on what i felt was best for myself but a friend showed me the article in the Euro weekly or the Sol Times a few months ago about the increase to €250k and it said from Jan 1st...

Re: Inheritance tax allowance increase in 2018

I know from experience of the situation in 2015 and not a lot has changed from what i can see . I inherited €350k from a parent , there was no liability in the UK but here the only allowance in Andlucia was €16k and the tax bill would have been well over 50k however we didnt need the money and certa...

Re: Unemployment

Thanks everyone , thought the least i should do is pass on the information we learnt from the meeting with the bar owner who was clearly very well acquainted with the rules . The bar owner said there is no need to notify the unemployment office as they will do so themselves as they can employ people...

Unemployment

Would anyone know the situation regarding working while signing on . My wife worked for a business for a month , unfortunately the owner closed as he was not making a profit so the wife signed on to maintain our health cover . Last night she received a tx from a local bar saying she had been recomme...

Re: Health Service Prescription Charges

Can anyone explain to me the charging method for prescriptions . For years i have been a dependent on the wifes Seguro and we have both paid 40% for my medications but only 10% for the 2 items that are required to treat a chronic condition , the 10% for chronic or long term medication is standard . ...

Albox IBI bills were done 2 months early this year , apparently they can legally do this . We pay ours by DD , think we might change back to paying cash , if you dont pay by DD you get a bill posted to you , you also get 2 months to pay . if you pay by DD you dont get a bill and the money is taken a...

Re: Correos - Not deliverying reliably

They are a law unto themselves and have no reason to be concerned if you think they are incompetent or not , their jobs are safe . I had a €100 fine for crossing the white line , my fault so i went into Correoss in Albox the following day gave the counter person the document and paid the discounted ...

Re: cracks appearing from vibrations?

I would cut around inside and out with an angle grinder , will be dusty but then the brickwork should come away without to much effort and would also make it easier to make good the opening after the french doors have been installed .

Re: Modern cars, no spare wheel. Worried?

Nope , ours was €100 spare wheel , €1000 Air con and Radio , €10 for cup holder , €200-500 choice of colours but red was standard so no additional charge . Even the price quoted for bog standard basic was €1000 less than we could have bought it for with cash , they deducted €1000 to advertize a low ...

Re: Modern cars, no spare wheel. Worried?

We opted to pay an additional €100 for a traditional spare wheel when we bought our Ford , heard of to many instances where the stuff that came with the car was not up to fixing the flat and although we are covered by breakdown services its a lot less hassle and certainly much quicker to just change...

Think it worth mentioning they the exemption for CGT is for residence only provided its their main home and they have lived there for 3 years or more . I do recall reading many years ago that it was either the retention which at the time was 2.5% was due to so much being lost by sellers returning to...

Re: 3% retention tax

Buyers will often ask for a recommendation for a lawyer or the agents will push a particular one . Even if the buyer finds their own Lawyer the Lawyer will do all he can for the sale to go through as they know if it doesn't then the agent will steer future buyers away from them . They wont bite the ...
