Crown have always been either full to full, half full to half full etc. IE that don't seem to charge extra at point of hire for a full tank. Record also seem to do this (from memory). In fact at Malaga its only been Europa Gold thats been the rip off!

CostaKid You was lucky. Goldenballs gave me a triple "upgrade" from a basic Grade A model and then charged me €70 for the tank of petrol (I used about 20 litres in my 4 day stay!!). Crown are always good but you grow old in the queue. I stick with carjet but only accept those companies which do full...

Be aware that carjet.co and carjet.com sometimes have different prices. Check both just in case. Either way they're the cheapest i've used.

Police have today admitted that George Best was not in fact buried in Belfast last week, and that in retrospect the decision to cremate him in Hemel Hempstead on Sunday morning might have been a mistake.

My English kettle tripped the apartment's leccy everytime it was switched on - and that was in Summer!

I bought a Spanish one and it works perfectly. The English ones do cause a power surge.

I find carjet cheapest. Beware of crown though, they take ages! They will give you another company if you ask. Avoid Record Gold - they charged me €72 for a tank of petrol before setting off - made it more expensive than Hertz

A/C electricity usage

Most peculiar... I rent out my 2 bed apartment near Nerja, and its been occupied since May by various holiday makers. On August 11 I installed A/C in two of the rooms. I have just got the first after A/C electric bill and the usage per week has been 77 KWH. In the 8 weeks prior to the installation t...

A plant for my terrace

Hi I have an apartment in Frigiliana, near Nerja. It has a balcony measuring about 4m * 2m. I want a pretty plant to sit on it all year. I rent the place out so its got to be tolerant of under/over generous watering and minimal care. Would a bougainvillea be ok? Or has anyone any suggestions please....

Cheapest voice calls to Spain

Can be found on the niftylist website. They list the cheapest providers in ascending cost sequence.

I have so far achieved 1p per minute to land lines and 10p per minute to Spanish mobiles. That's about the same as i pay to dial within the UK so it seems good value.

Spanish euro cheque in Germany

I need to pay someone who lives in germany 140€.

Can I just write and post him a cheque in euros from my Spanish account? Or will he have to pay charges when he deposits it in his German euro account.
