Re: Technogas Andalucia

We are aware of these scams and I have a plan! If anyone like this knocks at my door, I will invite them to let me take their photograph, and a photo of their i.d. , with my iPhone. I am assuming they will scarper pretty quickly. It worked in a car park in the UK when car clampers were starting to ...

Re: You guys who fly MONARCH (or anyone for that matter)

I booked with Monarch, back in August, for a flight later this month, I’ve just checked in, on line, and I was asked to fill in an API form. Although I didn’t look, I got the impression that I wouldn’t be able to proceed without doing this.

Re: Legal house in Almeria

Spud, yes there are quite a lot of illegal houses in the areas that come under the ‘Albox’ umbrella, Although you hear a lot about them, they are in the minority, the vast majority of people in legal houses, live there happy and peacefully, with no need to make any noise. I live between Or...

Re: Illegal electricity connection quandary

The family that have an ‘empty’ house opposite us, turned up one day to use the bread oven to make cake for all the family, and more by the looks of all the cakes. It was getting dark and they hadn’t finished, so the head of the family came to me with an electric cable, and told me he "wanted to plu...

Once you’re on your “road trip”, you’ll come into contact with other ‘motorhomers’ that will put you right, that is, if you haven’t already got the best set up

Re: Black Screen on PC

Hi, I occasionally get something like this, I unplug the system, but when I plug it back in and try to boot up, it goes black again. Then I just press the reset button and follow the on-screen instructions.
Works every time for me…….oops, shouldn’t have said that, should I?

Re: Perspex sheets

I put this on another forum with regard to draught proofing doors and windows; it might work to stop water, also? 1, brush any dirt off the frames. 2, ‘paint’ with white spirit or turps etc and dry with a clean cloth. 3, apply silicone sealant to the frame. 4, cover the sealant and part of the frame...

Re: Living with winter storms in the campo

Our winter problem is snow, usually 3-4 times a year we’re blocked in, so we also stock up.
We used to have a 4x4, but because there are cambers on the track, FWD couldn’t stop it sliding sideways into the fields, and we realised that usually the snow melted away the next day anyway.

Re: Is It Worth Installing Alarms/Cameras/Lights Etc ?

I worked for a while in the security industry, and still, I’m rather blasé about the subject. Could be that I’ve never been broken into………Yes I know….......Yet. So, here are a few little tips. 1) Make sure you house doesn’t look as ‘appealing or attractive’ as some of the others in your area, and th...

Not a coach holiday, but we have a friend that likes coach travel that much, whenever she wants to go back to Britain, from southern Spain, she always goes by coach.

Re: Is It Worth Installing Alarms/Cameras/Lights Etc ?

We live in a small village (hamlet really because there only four families living here), two kilometres up a dirt track. Our neighbours are our security system; if a stranger comes into the village, we all know about it, no need for lights or alarms. I never lock my car, and we often go ...

Yes, here it is again everyone, the day that all Tykes, wherever they are, celebrate the fact that they are ‘Yorkshire Folk’. Re: Smoke alarms?

A carbon monoxide alarm is equally important, especially in homes that have wood burning fires or Stoves. Carbon monoxide poisoning is known as ‘the silent killer’ and unfortunately, not many people are aware of the dangers of it.
Google ‘carbon monoxide poisoning’ for more information.

Some years ago had a similar problem with Iberbanda, they seemed to suggest the problem was down to me doing something I shouldn’t have been doing, until it went off while I was talking to their techie guy, he was then able to find out what the problem was. Anyway, I wrote a letter of complaint, ove...
