Re: keg of beer

The Robin Hood at Estepona has just taken delivery of 3 cask ales. Bitter, Porter and a Red Ale. This is the beer from the micro brewery, in Vélez Rubio, that I mentioned in a previous post. I am at the moment organising a visit to the brewery, for the group of Hash House Harriers that I am a membe...

Campo Steve wrote:If we were talking a "cask" of cask conditioned ale, that would be different.

Steve, just for the record, there’s a ‘micro brewery’ in Vélez Rubio in Almeria, that produces ‘cask conditioned beer’ Their ‘Saxon Bitter’ is as good as you get in Britain….Feel a thirst coming on mate?

Re: Arranging a funeral

We have funeral insurance through our local undertaker; he acts as an agent for ‘Alianza Española’ just for funeral insurance, this years premium was just under €270 for the two of us, aged 61 & 63. When we took out the insurance, we left instructions with him about what type of funeral we wante...

Vetair

Does anyone know where I can get a product called “Vetair” (or something like that)? It’s an aerosol that has the effect of subduing animals. Apparently if you have an excitable, or aggressive pet and have found that it calms down when visiting the vet, this product mimics the atmosphere of the vete...

Re: Hash House Harriers

Pardon my ignorance, but what is hashing? Hi Steve, hash house harrier groups are really, social organisations, and hashing is more of a pastime, with most of the emphasis on having fun, therefore, anyone that knows about hashing, would not consider it a sport. Having said that, some of us do jog n...

Re: Hash House Harriers

Bowler, this posting actually does not belong on the sports section, but not being a hasher, that's probably why you don't know that, do you. :? Actually I think I know where you’re coming from, but to suggest this belongs in the sports section, is like suggesting a discussion about donkeys, belongs...

Hash House Harriers

Are there any hashers out there on A.com? A group of hashers from (mainly) CambridgeH3 are coming to Mojácar, in Almeria province, for a long weekend of hashing, and the usual fun, around the Mayday holiday weekend. Anyone can come along and join in for, the full weekend or, just the odd hash. For m...

I take it there was no charge this service?

Telboy, the guys work in the town, so I presume it’s the town hall that employs them, either way it was all official.

No, there was no charge

Re: Dead Tree Removal

We had a similar problem with trees (on the edge of a camino) leaning towards our house and starting to rot at the bottom. We went to the town hall, filled in a ‘solicitude form’, and about three weeks later a couple of guys came and cut them down. And as a bonus, we also got the wood! Don’t know if...

Re: So, how is the weather where you are ???

Snowing around here (Oria), went out this morning and nearly didn’t get back.
Although the snow wasn’t deep, it was very slippy, one car had already come to grief after sliding across the road and bouncing off one crash barrier into the other.

We’ve just received $1 compensation credit from Skype, for the ‘down time’.
Not bad considering we didn’t need to make any calls at the time, and in fact we didn’t even know about the problem until reading about it on the forums

Re: The Old House in the Campo...

Not long after we renovated, and moved into our old country house, we noticed pictures on the walls kept moving, not much, just enough to notice, just one at a time, and no regular pattern, we realised we were not alone! A few other, unusual, things happened, and always to do with pictures. One day ...

Re: Do I need permission to build a concrete retaining wall.

There’s a barranco adjacent to my house, it’s never been a problem until this year, when floodwater washed about a metre of the bank away, on my side. I saw the local policeman (who, in our area, deals with planning issues) in our village one day and asked him about building a retaining ...

Re: Perseid meteor shower

I saw few small ones, a couple of pretty good ones, then an absolutely brilliant one; it lit up the sky around it with its long bright trail. I thought, “can’t beat that”, so I went to bed. Maybe the reason I saw what others didn’t is, I live way over to the east, in the mountains of northern...

I’ve been told that you can use it once a day free; more than this, there is a charge but I don’t know what it is.
