As for the husband ‘finding himse...

Make sure you’re getting the same level of cover. I nearly slipped up with this on a quote from Mapfre, but when I asked them to match the cover, there was little difference and I’ve found LD are good with claims. However I ended up going with Pelayo, they made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.!!! gretch

One of the friends that was with us at the time said it wasn’t very spectacular, but that’s not the point, I saw it, and I would’ve been very disappointed if I hadn’t.

Thanks for the info guys :D

I was driving along one day and saw an ostrich at the side of the road  I thought it could be a distraction to motorists, so I decided that I’d better report it to the local Guardia. I took a picture of it first though, because I didn’t know how to say ostrich in Spanish and I certainly wasn’...

I asked my post man the same question, some time ago, and he said it was his job to deliver the mail to the address on the envelope irrespective of the name on it..Which I thought was a bit worrying, if someone happened to put the incorrect number on it.... :? It’s exactly the same in Britain, in f...

PP. Just google for ‘keeping ducks’ or similar, and you’ll find lots of info. Lovely creatures, in spite of the mess :?
Lets us know if you do buy them and how you get on.

I noticed on a lot of doors and windows, the varnish was peeling. So when it came to doing mine I used linseed oil (thinned for penetration), one coat in each of the first two years and another in the fifth. My wood seems to be resisting everything the weather can throw at it and the colour is good ...

We paid €250 this year for the two of us, 58 & 60 years old. The only thing is, it only covers a funeral in this country. gretch I see no point in purchasing a plan that is country specific unless it includes cover for repatriation. None of us can chose when and where we die and as ex-pats will...

Yes I’m with you guys, I live here, I’ll die here (probably), I’ll be cremated here.
It’s just that some people my wish to be sent back to the UK, for whatever reason, and therefore, when arranging funeral insurance, this will have to be taken into account.

Talking to a friend yesterday, he told me he’d been to his local supermarket and it was “only the Brits ‘panic buying’, the Spanish are just getting on with their lives”. 8) Me? I’m staying at home and digging into the back of cupboards and the freezer to find food I haven’t seen for a while and eat...
