I make an easy shellfish soup. Fry a chopped onion, add some tomato passata, herbs, garlic, fish stock (made from a cube is fine) add the shellfish and season to taste. Serve topped with bread cubes fried in olive oil and/or warm crusty bread.

If you lot would make your minds up just where you live, and stay there, it would not only reduce the carbon footprint of Andalucia, but stop all these worries about how/where/when you will sit for just a three-hour flight! Oh Peter, if only, my joints say Spain but my bank manager says UK. ...

Gas fires have a safety device installed where a thermocouple provides electricity to hold open the solenoid. If the thermocouple fails the gas supply will be cut off. The pilot light heats up the thermocouple, the same would happen if the pilot light blew out. This site may explain it better than I...

It took me nearly a month before I got used to my first varifocals. I went back to the optician after about two weeks as I was having difficulties she asked me to persevere for a bit longer. I'm now onto my third pair and it's so much more convenient than having to change specs for reading. I find I...

Yes Mrs P since the summer of 1985 as part of our furnishing package. Value for money or what, mind you in all that time it has probably only had the equivalent of about 2 years use, I just hope I haven't now given it the kiss of death. :) Everything in the apartment is 22 years old (well nearly eve...

I live in a hard water area in UK and try to use Calgon on a regular basis. I hadn't used my machine for a few weeks recently and then noticed a sandy deposit on some dark items of clothing after washing but Calgon should hopefully sort it. I also keep the machine door open when not in use and dry t...

I presume you have the instructions for both if not then you could google for them. With the slow cooker you should seal everything first especially meat this is mai...

Hola Safe, how do u like your cabbage cooked? Hola Jade. I shred the cabbage then put it into a pan with a tight fitting lid with just a tiny amount of water and a big knob of butter. I keep an eye on it and don't cook it for long as we like it still a little 'crunchy' and seasoned to taste. ...
